I thought of that a few minutes afterwards, too. But then, why would Dwight even do it? Why not kill Negan in the heat of battle?

We see Dwight shoot two people, neither of them deadly. One in the shoulder and one in the side, and earlier he mentions that mucking up his arrows will mess up the weight. I think his arrows were clean and he has something else in mind for Negan.

Yeah. I should have caught it right away that the arrow probably was clean. We don't actually see him do it and he does make that excuse to Negan. Then again, Kirkman keeps saying this arc will change everything and something unthinkable will happen. And he's been grooming Maggie...

I had to go look at spoilers. Huh. Does that actually work in this universe?

It's a device he stole from Crossed. I've always thought Kirkman was a crap writer with Walking Dead being the sole exception, but he's starting to make me rethink that.

Yup, Crossed is what came (eeew!) to mind after reading what he was doing.

His writing has definitely improved recently and I suspect it's from spending time with the tv show's writing room, but I never thought he was a crap writer. He's a great plotter and great with character development, but terrible - until recently - with dialogue and pacing. I think he's taken to heart a lot of the criticism he gets in the letters hacks for that stuff and I admire that. Liefeld should take note.

Liefeld is terrible at everything. I'll never understand how he keeps getting paying work from major publishers. He's a joke.

I like Kirkman's overall vision in Invincible.

Finally read the new Moon Knight, I like where this could head.... Also liking how its tying in to the mythos and not rewriting it

Probably will never read The Walking Dead, but I love Invincible.
I may have mentioned this before in this thread, but...Usagi Yojimbo is the best comic series I've ever read. Stan Sakai has stayed so consistently great as both a writer and artist.

all new Ghost Rider left me wanting. Of all the recent NOW reboots its definitely the weakest. Magneto and Moon Knight really managed to set up something new and interesting while acknowledging the past. This one starts off completely fresh, which is to be expected from a spirit that switched hosts, but it doesn't really go anywhere, this dude turns into ghost rider and then it ends... no real set up or story arc. And the art is irritating, looks kind of anime. The car is a cool touch though. I went bavk to read the Danny Ketch origin and that was handled much better than this

Picked up the second issue of Sandman:Overture. Much better than the first issue. Really glad OWA got me to read the first three trades, turned into one of my favorite comics... I'm collecting both sets of covers that are coming out and going to frame one of them, just not sure which one yet.

Second issue of Moon Knight left me wanting more. At the start way to much white space for panels.. Hopefully next issue picks up the slack from this one..

Would have liked to have seen more of "Mr.Knight" but knowing Ellis, its a premise that will come up again.
Skelly, did you end up getting any of the GoTG?

East of West is just astounding. Each issue is better than the last. It's like M. Night Shyamalan's body of work in reverse.
The 30th issue of Superior Sipder-man was a big one!

I'm halfway through Red Hood And The Outlaws volume 1 and I think I hate it. It looked like an awesome self-aware extreme 90's throwback badass renegade team, but it's more like a dumb horny bro adventure. It seems inspired by "Savages", which I loved the movie adaptation of, but those themes which bordered on juvenile and pathetic in the movie are just cringeworthy in a stupid superhero story. I guess it could work if the comedy was well executed but it's hardly even comedy, just labored bro-speak, boob jokes, and chapters named after 80's hair metal songs. The only saving grace is that Kenneth Rocafort's Leinil Yu impression is decent, but I don't know if that'll be enough to make me finish it.
