My God, Tom Grindberg is worse than Rob Liefeld! At least he's just aw terrible. False. Rob Liefeld is the king of crappy comic book art. Except for that guy who drew those Tank Girl comics I saw a few months back. They looked like complete shit. Him and the guy who is going to draw the new Transformers/G.I. Joe series. They both suck in an epic way. Okay, so maybe Liefeld is the 3rd worst comic artist out there.

Moon knight still isnt really going anywhere. I like these kind of artsy, dark and confusing stories but there doesn't seem to be a build up to anything Had a talk with a buddy here thats a Moon Knight fan as well. He's thinking that each issue is going to show a different one of Specter's multiple personalities. Re-reading all three after talking to him about that, I can see it.

I thought I heard Marvel/Ellis wants people to get acquainted with the character before they go hard with a story.

Agreed and thinking of it that way, if that's the route taken, I think its going to be one hell of a ride. Nice to see Mr Knight come back in the start of issue three as well.

I've always liked the idea and image of 300-count Egyptian cotton Batman from the Marvel universe, but I've read so little that made me care about him.

Since Dark Horse is losing the Star Wars comics license this summer, I've been ordering as many TPBs as I can the last couple months. I now have all but two of the Omnibus editions, all the recent hardcover collections (Dark Empire Trilogy, Thrawn Trilogy, Crimson Empire Trilogy, and all 3 Legacy collections), so now it's on to some of the recent miniseries that never got Omnibused.
It's like a race against time. Some of these books are already going out of print, and the prices skyrocket. The Dark Empire Trilogy HC and some of the older Omnibuses go for over $100, and I want to get as much as I can before it all disappears forever. Since none of the Expanded Universe "counts" anymore, I don't have faith in Marvel/Disney to bother keeping any of it in print. I don't care whether it counts as part of the larger canon, they're just (mostly) good stories.

Twisted Toyfare Theater is great!
OKC, I don't think Marvel will let those stories fall out of print. It's like how IDW reprinted all the Transformers stuff that DW did. It's still money to be made. Especially, if they hold out on it for a while to make people believe they were never planning to, bur then changed their minds.

Maybe, but I just don't expect much from Marvel when it comes to Star Wars comics (quantity or quality), or at least nothing like Dark Horse did at their best. I hope they prove me wrong, but Marvel getting the comics license at all just seems like corporate synergy from Disney. And weirdly enough, Dark Horse reprinted all the Marvel SW comics from the 70s-80s across 5 Omnibus edition TPBs, so last week I ordered those books before the rights go back to Marvel and the old Marvel stuff goes out of print. Pretty much the only SW books left on my want-list are the two Agent of the Empire trades, Dawn of the Jedi trades, the trades of the Brian Wood series, and The Star Wars based on the batshit-crazy original draft of the screenplay.

I read Nemesis vol. 1. As expected, it was full of gleeful violence, hilarious moments, and a few brilliant ideas; and McNiven's art rules. But the ending pretty much ruined it. It was unoriginal, made the story feel so much smaller and less important, and basically destroyed the Nemesis character. So that was disappointing. I'm curious if vol. 2 salvages it, but if the movie goes forward as planned I hope they go a different route.

Ah, Mark Millar and his lackluster endings. You should check out Jupiter's Legacy when it comes to trade. That shit rocks my world.

I thought I heard Marvel/Ellis wants people to get acquainted with the character before they go hard with a story. Unfortunately, Ellis was likely writing these stories this way because he and Shalvey are leaving after #6. Brian Wood is taking over writing duties.

Started reading Exiles. Not far in, but I like the vibe I'm getting.
I don't have to deal with the drippy soap opera bullshit that has defined the X-Men comic for so long, that made me avoid them so much, while touching on all the significant periods in the history of the team.
I'm a big fan of the underdog, and that's why I loved Thunderbolts (not the stupid Rulk/Pool/Punny,etc...series). I'm getting that feeling with Exiles. It's what I'd hoped the Secret Defenders might be, which was fucking super-meta-bigtime-nut cancer....balls.

I mainly can't stand Ross. I love the idea of Rulk, and he had some good stories, but overall, the guy's a cock. Venom is alright, but the little I've read didn't grab me. None of them were likable to me.

Holy shit, Moon Knight #5 was great! Sucks Ellis is only doing one more issue, but have full faith with Brain Wood's track record that he'll keep the goods coming

What do you guys think of a girl taking up the mantle of Thor? That's an odd marketing scheme, but Jason Aaron's writing it so I guess it'll be well done?

Thor isn't a fucking title its a character. Someone else can have the power of Thor but that doesn't make them Thor. Beta Ray Bill wielded Mjolnir but he wasn't called Thor he was still Beta Ray Bill and he kicked some ass.

I don't know the details of the story or what's been happening in the Thor comics that could lead to the gender switch (maybe something like when Loki was female during the JMS run?), but silly stunts like that are why I haven't read any Marvel/DC comics in a long time. I gave up on the New 52 after about a year (shouldn't have waited so long) and Marvel just seems like an endless string of movie tie-ins and relaunching ongoing series with new #1 issues for no reason. It gets boring.
And their next big EVENT!!! storyline is the death of Wolverine. I can't wait to see how they kill Wolverine and bring him back to life in time to promote the next X-Men movie. Yawn.

Indeededly 100%
I haven't read the comics eitherbut the article said something like Thor fucks up and is no longer worthy to wield Mjolnir and then some lady comes in and is now Thor. Yeah because that just makes all kinds of sense. Now if they had said that she comes in and now has the power of Thor but is a completely new character fine. But saying that she IS Thor stupid bullshit. As I said Thor is a character not a title. It's not the fucking Nova Corps. If they want more female readers how about pushing Sif or Valkyrie? Hell she's blonde so why not just have it be Valkyrie throwing down the lightning for a bit? This screams desperation/we have no idea what to do.
What if all of a sudden DC wanted Wonder Woman to be a dude? They would probably be burnt to the ground.
Oh and this might be off topic but I HATE how there are no single issue runs or whatever the proper term is. It's always gotta be a special crossover or tie-in to some gigantic bullshit event. Remember when a story in one character's book was like a 3-5 issue SELF-CONTAINED story without every other character jumping in and it leading to a completely different character's book? Then every once in a while they'd have a cool crossover with a COUPLE of other books and it made it seem like a big deal. Now everything has to mix into everything else for the next big crisis event making you buy every issue of every currently running character's series and it severely cheapens the big crossover stuff.
Sorry but I had to vent. Comics were my everything growing up and now they just end up pissing me off. Guess that's why I pretty much quit reading them. Every once in a while I'll pick up an older trade or something.
