They won't do it now, because Pissboy walked it back with the old classic, "I was being sarcastic," because his daughter or Melania probably told him his supporters are dumb as fuck and will try that shit and die and then they can't vote for him.

NY said they had double the household poison cases at hospitals after that than the previous year.
As a whole, we've normalized this psychopath so perfectly that nothing he says is actionable now. There is no line, there is no bottom. There are no consequences.

Sociopath. Psychopaths are cold but can often mimic regular emotions quite well, and they can also be charming. Psychopaths can be excellent at pretending they care about people for the purpose of manipulating them. Sociopaths are more prone to rage and acting without thinking about how others will be affected. They also frequently blame others and make excuses for their behavior. Sociopaths tend to make it plainly known they don't care about anyone but themselves. Psychopaths are typically viewed as calculating, while sociopaths are generally seen as erratic.

Just feels better as an insult to call him a psychopath. But whichever diagnosis keeps him out of regular prison will be the path his lawyers take next year when the trials start.
Something I'm seeing more people who don't wear masks do is get closer to those of us wearing them. Either they don't think they can pass it on to us, or aren't concerned about getting it because we're wearing one which is all the protection they need. And there are always those who just don't fucking care at all. I'm stepping back from people a lot.
No more assistant. That issue finally resolved itself. Means even more work for me for a while, but it's not like she was really doing a whole lot for a long time anyway.

Since it used to be my job, I will point out that it's wrong. Also, neither is a diagnosis. They're really just types, and both are associated with Antisocial Personality Disorder, which is a diagnosis. The terms basically just exist as a way to distinguish what kind of asshole with APSD a clinician may be dealing with. Trump also has clear Narcissistic Personality Disorder, which is something I'm sure you've heard before. Dementia is super likely, too, but that path leads right out my wheelhouse. Knowing this stuff isn't fun.

This is how I picture the response from the federal government and some states. Ha. Jokes on them, since there's still no evidence that people who recover have immunity to the virus, it's likely just going to circulate through the population until a genuine cure or magical vaccine that doesn't depend on antibody production is found or until we all die.

Yeah, I heard mention a little while ago about reinfections in Singapore and maybe HK, but it's getting a little more traction right now. Scary shit. This thing is aggressive as shit.
Turns out our neighbor is a big Alex Jones fan. Told my wife today to take colloidal silver and rinse with coconut water to remove all the toxins from her body. Neat. Maybe that will be the next idea Captain T-Bag suggests Tuesday or Wednesday after he decides to do his TV rallies again.

Mike Pence strolling through the Mayo Clinic yesterday without a mask on, after they SPECIFICALLY FUCKING TOLD HIM TO WEAR ONE, is just classic for that asshole. Living in Indiana I've been familiar with him for a long time, and he's been a massive piece of shit for decades.
But the mask thing is just so fucking typical. Wearing the mask serves countless purposes, obviously. Very intentionally NOT wearing a mask only serves one thing: impressing his fucknut boss who also won't wear one. He says he gets tested all the time (must be nice!!) and he doesn't have the virus. I call bullshit. Just wear the goddamn mask, you useless moralizing hate goblin.

I'm sure he gets tested frequently and that his tests have come up negative, but if the head of the United States Coronavirus Task Force actually paid attention to anything, he'd know that those quick tests he's no doubt getting, those have a 15% false negative rate, meaning there's a 15% chance he does have the virus and doesn't know it. He could also be infected by not keeping a safe distance from people wearing masks, though not as easily as if they were not wearing masks. He should know that, too, but that might stop him from strutting around like he's better than everybody else. As a former patient, I am pissed as fuck that the Mayo Clinic let him in without a mask, and that their social media person deleted the tweet saying that he had been informed of their policy. The next time I have something weird and fucked up that requires me to leave my home state, I'm going to the Cleveland Clinic instead.

He's also pandering to the cult base who don't care about spreading the virus and would rather screech about rights they don't understand than care about killing their neighbors. No mask = freedomtrumppence2020.
Plus, Mike must hate the idea of being penetrated by a swab. He likely prays for forgiveness every time he puts a toothbrush in his mouth and avoids hot dogs like he does public restrooms and proximity to women who ain't Mother.
Costco is making it mandatory for customers to wear masks. But a hospital caves to the MAGA pressure. Fucking doomed.

No mask = freedomtrumppence2020. Exactly. I actually thought I'd said pretty much this same thing, but it looks like I neglected to. I appreciate that this important point didn't go missing from the conversation, because this is likely the biggest reason Pence didn't wear a mask, even moreso than his own ignorance and sense of superiority. We are so fucked. Fauci is now saying a second wave in the fall is inevitable and of fucking course it is. My state has a stay at home order in place until June 10th, and while it's not required (I believe something about the Virginia Constistution wouldn't allow it to be), there has been a strong suggestion that residents wear masks in public. On my way to and from physical therapy today, I saw 17 people walking and doing tai chi and playing frisbee and picking up food, as we're all allowed to do, but only four people had masks and one of us had it down under her chin. The fucking receptionist at my PT clinic had a mask but had it pulled down under her nose. Like I said a week or so ago, this is Fairfax County and we're supposed to be the smart ones up here.

The charts of the 1917* flu are chilling. The second wave was much deadlier.
My wife has surpassed 100 masks made and given out to people in the neighborhood. She's still on one day of work each week, and still glad to make them as long as people need them. And she just made me a bitchin' Hulk green and purple mask.
*1918, but Shemp always calls it the 1917 epidemic.

My state's governor is a total Pence stooge (former lieutenant governor under Pence), but to his credit he's not being as reckless with his reopening plans as some other states are. He seems to be modeling his approach similar to Ohio's. Still worrisome as we've barely even plateaued, let alone seen the kind of decrease that would justify a wide reopening of the economy. And testing remains a total joke.
Also, anybody else noticing an allergic reaction to the masks? This week I've had an itchy rash behind both ears, which has to be from the elastic bands. I don't have any allergies to latex or rubber or anything, but it's definitely a reaction to something.

Mother Pence is now stating that hubby didn't know until after the visit that the Mayo clinic had a mandatory mask policy. So everyone in the hospital is wearing one, but he doesn't think to ask if it's mandatory? It amazes me that these people say what they say and expect anyone to believe it.

Pence also never said that he disregarded the Mayo Clinic's mask policy because he gets "tested regularly" and "wanted to look people in the eye and thank them." 🙄 That's not fake news, though. They'll just pretend that never happened.

I don't have any allergies to latex or rubber or anything, but it's definitely a reaction to something. The homemade masks we're using have ties. One goes above my ear around the back of my head, the other low around the neck. I tried the usual paper with elastic at first since we have them at work for working with chemicals, and they're annoying. Hate having them behind the ear. I tried tying the straps on these once, too, and it was awful. So, no. No breakout or rashes. Could just be friction and it's rubbing enough to dry behind your ears and causing irritation. Try some aloe or lotion, even calamine, when you're at home not wearing one.

My sister in law has been making some nice masks out of canvas and denim (which are great because they're easier to wash than the disposable ones), and we've been getting a decent number at work. I'm not short on masks, I just need to figure out which kind is giving me this rash and quit using those.

My mother's cousin, who was also my cousin (once removed or something), just died from this fucking thing. She was retarded and in an assisted living facility in Philadelphia. She died alone and no doubt confused. I hate this fucking thing more tonight than I did last night. I hate Trump more now than I did this morning. So much of this awfulness was avoidable.

Sorry, man.
The PR-happy number the right believes is acceptable has moved from the original 0 to 60,000 and now to 100,000. When we hit half-a-million dead in fall, because of the inability for our society to concentrate on anything this long, I'm sure a million will be cheered as the new "success story".
I'm a high risk target in my job. We're now going to do temp checks every day. I expect to have to live this way for a year or two. And I'm gonna live because some idiotic passive murderers ain't gonna be what fucking takes me out, and I'm keeping them the fuck away from me and make no bones about them encroaching on me when they do. It's not going away but at least half of this country is too dumb, selfish and lazy to care, so they'd rather kill people like me and you, your cousin, their mothers, sons and daughters to prove some point that doesn't exist.
The amount of "Bill Gates made this" conspiracy nuts that come into a health food store is goddamn high. We have to hear about this shit from ignorant fucks a lot. I don't humor them anymore and walk away.

We'll hit 100K dead this weekend. Numbers are rising faster, and now red states and federal are not going to keep track. We'll never have an accurate view of this, and that blind eye will ensure so many more dead who could have lived.
Tison from Costco is my new viral hero for the week. Sure wish I could tell some motherfuckers to get the fuck out of my store.
My wife has made close to 300 masks now.
OKC. I saw that the National Guard is being recalled on the 24th of June. Are they still helping you out? Seems that date is the 89th day of their deployment. At 90 days they qualify for early retirement and other benefits, so of course they're going to get screwed out of being put in danger by our shitass president. He's never compensated anyone for work they've done, why should he start now?

Yeah, we still have the Guard helping us til the end of next month. They've been a huge help, and I'm honestly not sure if we could've made it through the last couple months without them. We couldn't in good conscience expect our regular volunteers to show up during a pandemic, and our staff just isn't big enough to get everything done with just us. Loading the regular monthly (bi-monthly now) senior food boxes, loading bags for a weekly distribution at a high school the next county over, loading pallets every day for our agencies since they aren't allowed in the warehouse to shop anymore, loading boxes for a massive one-day distribution happening this weekend, and all the regular office work and report submissions that still need to get done... it would've been impossible without the National Guard.
And the fact that these people who have provided such an invaluable service through all this are getting screwed out of their benefits by having their service period end after 89 days... it makes me angrier than almost anything else this fucking viper's nest of an administration has pulled yet. It's just comically evil.

That's from this past weekend. Can someone explain to me the appeal of 100 people standing in a waist-deep pool of stagnant pisswater, getting shitfaced on cheap cocktails? Even if there weren't a pandemic raging across the country, this would be completely fucking disgusting. 2 weeks from now that godforsaken place will still be open and we'll all be staring down the barrel of the second wave of Coronavirus, brought to us by these fucking assholes.

I saw that one of the dorks who was there was positive and in the hospital, and a timeline was released with all the places he went that weekend.
The protests are definitely going to push infections to spike big time.
