This kicks at least 15 kinds of ass. The raw, powerful vocal just sends shivers down my spine every time. The whole soundtrack is really amazing. Too much overproduction in music these days. You're missing out if you skip this song and just post your own next.

Corey Glover's always been a favorite vocalist. Here he is doing the same song. And now I've got Steve Vai playing with Living Colour. Vernon Reid and Vai soloing is rad as shit. Wish the sound was better.

New Kanye album is out. It's really fucking good. All the cool kids are buying it.
Seriously, it's REALLY FUCKING GOOD.

I was blasting this in my car on the way home from work today. I thought the windows were about to shatter. It is fucking amazing.
Yes, I'm the white dude blasting hip-hop from his hoopty. I'm that guy.

I'm sure Dr.MLK,jr. would appreciate his words being used to praise the titties being free at last. I see healthy perspectives towards women are taking root in hip hop. Finally! Also, now I finally know who Raz was talking about releasing a blank CD. LOL

Yeah, he's not the most progressive lyricist in the world, but with beats like that people can be very forgiving. The critics raving about this album aren't endorsing Kanye's suggestion of sweet & sour sauce to accompany Asian pussy.

Meh, I'm just not musically wired to get "beats" and all the importance that's attached to it. Music should be taken as a whole entity, not piecemeal.
Though I'll grant that, while I'm not as big a fan of YES as I was a long time ago, Anderson's lyrics are pretty much shit he made up that sounded good string together and felt good coming out of his mouth, rather than bearing much meaning. Then again, he isn't talking about eating assholes. LOL

The lyrics on this album are pretty frustrating. Not as much of the self-mockery as on his last one. Kanye knows what his public image is, and his lyrics are at their best when he's confronting it directly.
I'm just glad he didn't give a shoutout to his famous girlfriend like Jay-Z does every other song. No soon-to-be-dated 2013 references here. He's aiming for posterity with this and it's spectacular.

I've listened to this album now. You really don't want to know how deeply I am negatively affected by it. Kanye is trash in the same gutter as Rush and Hannity in my book. If beats are his saving grace, then I'm more lost in the world than I ever imagined.

Wow, now I really want to know what it was on "Yeezus" that affected you so intensely. Rush and Hannity? That's some serious condemnation indeed.
But I can understand not liking it. It's probably the least-accessible album of his career, and it's certainly not going to change anyone's mind about hip-hop. There isn't a single radio-friendly pop/rap song on it, but I still say it's a masterpiece. The duct-tape production on "Bound 2" is just awesome.

LOL I wondered if that was going to far, but I've decided it's not. It's nothing but a litany of women-as-a-series-of-holes, and that's when he's trying to be kind. It's the worst kind of thinking shrouded as entertainment, same way those 2 fat scumbags are marketed to people. Nothing different between their messages. Can't tell me he's "in character" because that's not what this was.
Also, I don't understand finding appeal in a dynamic where an "artist" like him has to make himself a controversial public figure just so he can have something to write about for his next album. That's so weird.
This album, fuck, man. It's just so brutally hateful.

But it is in character. I never assume a song in the first-person is necessarily autobiographical. And yeah, there's some rough content on this album, but there's also violence and misogyny in The Godfather. Does that make Coppola an awful person? Like I said though, "Yeezus" definitely won't change anyone's mind about the genre. But it's not like Kanye doesn't tell you everything you need to know right there in the title. This was fun. Next week I'll try to convince people why "Hostel" is one of the best horror movies of the last 10 years.

I call BS on the Godfather defense. There's no comparison and it's a cheap dodge in defense of what you've admitted is nothing more than a masterpiece for its good beats. And it's not a song, it's the entire album. This wasn't a concept album or anything else but an idiot selling bad ideas and perpetuating the worst stereotypes of the genre for nothing more than easy profit. Which is exactly what Rush banks his millions on.
You're gonna have to find for me Kanye's explanation of the meaning and intent beyond the embarrassing face value take on it. Then again, I've heard little else by him, so this could be his thing on every album for all I know. Which would make me shake my head even more confusedly.

I think "Came Back Haunted" is NIN's weakest effort yet, deservedly so, Trent can't be expected to write music from the brink of death forever; but this fan mashup of "Even Deeper" and "Crash" gives me hope that Croenenberg's video will give me a greater appreciation of the song.

My favorite band right now. This song is really chill but it makes me sad. They were channeling The Cure I guess.

Death Angel put out a new one recently, it's okay. Vai put one out not long ago that's...adventurous. I like it very much still. He's a god for me, so... Spock's Beard put out a new one, new singer. Band and style, still there. Singer...not a fan. The album fails for me. Tomahawk finally put one out at the beginning of the year that still shivers me timbers. And that's what's on right now.
