Some good stuff this week. "The Boys" (final issue ), "The Walking Dead", "Saga", "Crossed"... good week for good comics. And then there's "Wolverine MAX" #1. Holy shit this thing was terrible. Completely pointless in every way. Terrible artwork, a plot that doesn't make any sense at all (Wolverine gets his legs bitten off by a shark even though his skeleton is indestructible... the hell?), and a few instances of Wolverine saying "fuck" because this is a MAX book where shit gets HARDCORE. Just awful. Don't buy it.

Got a few Batman related graphic novels lately.
First off I picked up the Arkham City prequel about a week ago. Great art but the story was kind of eh. Guess I was just expecting too much out of it.
Next I picked up Batman The Dark Knight vol 1 this morning (had a coupon for the bookstore) and just finished it. All in all a good read imo. The artwork was gorgeous and I liked seeing all the villains freaking out on scarecrow toxin/venom. Plus it was sweet seeing the real Bane again after watching TDKR so much lately.
Lastly my mom got me Justice League vol 1 as a Christmas present so I'll be reading that on Christmas eve. Heard mixed things about it but Jim Lee's art and and a new spin on the formation of the JL should be enjoyable for me.

You should get "Court of Owls". That's the best Batman comic I've read in a long time.

I'm planning to give at least the first volumes of all the New 52 Batman titles a shot. Court of Owls is my next objective. I really enjoyed Knight Terrors today so I'm hoping they're all pretty enjoyable.

Been reading a few Marvel NOW! titles. Uncanny Avengers, Avengers, Hulk & Thor have been the highlights for me.

Only Marvel Now!!!!!! thing I've read is FF #1, the one by Matt Fraction and Mike Allred. It's pretty damn great.

Haven't read that yet. Heard it was good. I recently got Preacher volume 1, the only one I was missing, and I'm re-reading he whole series for the second time. So awesome.

I'm re-reading it right now too. It's been a long time, but it's still the best series I've ever read. Picking up on some plot holes this time, though....

So I read JL Vol 1 last night and while Jim Lee's art was phenomenal as always the story was mediocre at best. It just seemed so short. It felt like I read it in about 10 mins. The fight between Batman, GL, and Superman was pretty sweet though. Maybe I just need to read it again to soak up everything.
Also I don't understand why but goddamn Green Lantern was such a total douche.

Green Lantern (at least Hal) is always a total douche. It's one of the many things the movie got wrong.

I picked up the first volume of Batman The Court of Owls the other day and it was a pretty solid read. Going to have to get the next volume though since that ending was a bit of a cliffhanger.
Forgot to say that I loved the bit in the middle where the panels kept making you turn the book around to read it. That was trippy.

^ I have both of those. Supergod is great but A God Somewhere left something to be desired. It wasn't bad, but it was lacking in some areas. I got X-men #1 for a buck at a swap meet! Also a couple of Maximum Carnage issues that I was missing and Angela #1 for all a buck each. Reacquired my Invincible Ultimate Collection vol 1 for 4 bucks. I let a coworker borrow it like five years ago and she never gave it back even though I saw her on numerous occasions, during which she told me she'd get it back to me.

Is New 52 Flash worth reading? I'd like to get back into reading some Flash and since the two Batman books I have are good I'd like to check them out. As long as they're not disappointing like the JL book was I'll be happy.

New 52 Flash has really great artwork, but that's about it. If anything I'd suggest reading the Flash series from 2010 with the same artist, but without the silly costume with too many lines on it.

The last Flash comics I read were the ones right before The Return of Barry Allen. I had fun reading about Wally and his family. It was probably the one time I liked reading about super powered kids. Might have been because they were Wally's kids and Wally West will always be one of my favorite heroes.

Curious about that Gambit series you got as well, I picked up a 4 issue run from early 90's just haven't cracked it yet.
Still hunting to finish the 2010 run of Azreal, stuck looking for like 3-4 issues locally.

Been catching up on some reading. What are the good Marvel Now titles? The only ones I've read so far are Thunderbolts 1-3 (which I'm really enjoying) and Avengers Arena 1 (it's okay). What others should I pick up? Cable and the X-Force looks good. Read Walking Dead Vol. 17...........so messed up.

^I couldn't get past the awful art in Thunderbolts. Thor is the best of the bunch. Nothing but praise for it. The art and story are top notch. Uncanny Avengers, Avengers & All-New X-Men have been pretty good too.

I found a Flash book earlier in the bookstore called The Dastardly Death of the Rogues (or some such) that I may get a bit later. Anyone have some opinions on it? Any good? Looked pretty good but that's how I got burned with New 52 JL.
Hate to be a bother asking a bunch of questions like this but money is tight and I don't really want to waste it on something that's not worth it.
