Just picked up Supergod by Warren Ellis and A God Somewhere by John Arcudi. Has anyone here read these? They look pretty cool.

It'll have to wait, because I also finally got Cap Reborn and I'm starting that one first. ;D

I read Supergod. It was really cool. Re-imagine a world wide arms race where the weapons are superheros instead of nukes.

^ I read the first issue. It's typical Mark Millar "comic as movie treatment" stuff. Not sure if I'll bother with the rest. The stuff with Mark Hamill was pretty funny though.

Mark Hamill is in it?
I just finished Cap Reborn and started A God Somewhere. I'll let you guys know when I'm done. Cap Reborn was okay. A little hokey.

You guys have read the rest of Brubaker's Cap run, right? Cap Reborn won't make much sense without reading the stuff before it. It actually doesn't make much sense either way, but the earlier parts of the run through "The Death of Captain America" are just insanely good.

Yes. It was unusually hokey compared to the rest of the run. Anyway, A God Somewhere was... interesting. Supergod was cool. I'll come back and write a better review when I'm not feeling completely shitty.

You guys have read the rest of Brubaker's Cap run, right? Certainly. While I do like the Winter Soldier I don't really care for Bucky being back. Being the Man out of Time is something that made Steve Rogers unique. A distinction that really shouldn't be shared. I'm sure they did it to boost sales and of course Steve has to be back with the Avengers movie. That said, looking forward to Steve's current run and the Winter Soldier series.

I think Bucky died again, actually. It was during the whole "Fear Itself" series that I didn't read.

Yeah, he did, then came back again I think. I can't be bothered with all that.

I just got back from a small convention in San Jose. I got these: Courtesy of Ron Lim and Mike Choi. And I found almost the entire run of Doom 2099 for 25 cents each, which is turning out to be quite awesome, especially since I'm a huge Dr. Doom fan. It's got some pretty cool cyberpunk and nanotech stuff in it, and is actually written quite well for a 90s Marvel comic. I looked it up when I got home and it turns out Warren Ellis did the final run, which is great, because he's one of my favorite writers. I also found the first 7 issues of The Omega Men for 25 cents each (with the exception of #3, which was Lobo's first appearance), which is a very awesome comic that is not that well known. Keith Giffen's art is amazing in it and the writing is top notch, examining the dual nature of religion and war.

I just preordered the complete set of all 9 covers for Walking Dead #100. All 9 for $20. I don't usually buy variant covers, but when I do I prefer The Walking Dead.

Dude what site did you get that deal on? I need those variants!!!! It's something my LCS is doing. It's normally $28 for the full set with the chromium cover, but for people who already have The Walking Dead on their pull list they get the chromium cover free if they preorder the full set.
