I don't have them quite yet but I just ordered the first three volumes of Whedon's Astonishing X-Men. Super pumped because I've been trying to track these down for a while. I gotta start looking for comics on Amazon more often because they were pretty cheap.

Thanks. I'm really looking forward to them. For the longest time I've only had one issue that came with the Marvel Legends Astonishing Wolverine. I think it was issue 4. It's the one where they find Colossus and has Wolverine on the cover.

Astonishing X-Men vol2 came in this morning, vol3 is on the way, and vol1 hasn't shipped yet. Might be a bit before I get to read these.

The Whedon/Cassaday run on AXM is a classic. Maybe the best X-Men story I've ever read. I have the first trade and all the subsequent single issues, but I loved the story so much I bought the hardcover Omnibus when it came out.

My birthday is in a couple of weeks so I ordered some Ghost Rider comics to fill in a few holes. I didn't expect some of them to arrive so early but I've already got quite a few of them in the mail. Still have a LOT more to track down but I did complete some of the storylines that I've wanted to finish for a while now. And I found issue #1 in pristine damn near brand new condition for about $4. SCORE!!!! Actually they all seem like they're brand new. It's growing at a steady pace. I ordered: GR #1, 3, 7, 8, and 14 Ghost Rider/Blaze: Spirits of Vengeance #1 and 8 Morbius #1 and 12 Nightstalkers #1 and 10 Darkhold #1 and 11 Web of Spider-Man #98 Ghost Rider/Captain America: FEAR Now I've finished finished the opening story arc, Rise of the Midnight Sons, Midnight Massacre, and Spirits of Venom. Next I'm going to try and complete the Siege of Darkness saga. And oh boy it's a big one.

And oh boy it's a big one. GhostRider5289- just a heads up, there's an issue of Silver Sable and the Wild Pack (#19, I think) that ties into Siege of darkness.

Thanks for the tip. I've got them all written down in a notepad on my desk. I think there's like twentyish parts to it. I've got two or three already and it seems like an epic story.

Got my Saga Of The Swamp Thing trade signed by Rick Veitch and Steve Bissette. I could've had John Totleben sign it, too, but he looked like he was off the clock and it was the last five minutes of the con, so I didn't bother him. He was hanging out next to Stephen Bissette. Got this awesome variant signed by Nick Dragotta: And East Of West #1 signed by him, too: It's only the fourth printing, but whatever. Got a key issue for my Amazing Spider-man collection: A bunch of missing issues from my Spirits Of Vengeance and Ghost Rider collections: And Ghost Rider #1 signed by Mark Texeira:

I haven't counted but I've got them all listed on a piece of paper. I think I've got about sixty something issues in that stack on my shelf but that's including the crossover issues with Morbius, Nighstalkers, Darkhold, and Web of Spider-Man.
When I get home tomorrow I'll actually count what I've got and what I'm missing.

Not a comic haul, but when I was at my sister's yesterday, she handed me a scrapbook that my mom had put together when she was a kid. Had lots of old valentines in it, crap like that. But one page had a medium sized envelope taped to the page, and when I pulled out what was inside I was pleasantly surprised to see that at one point my mom read comics. It was from 1945 and she had sent away to join the Junior Justice Society of America membership, headed by all the greatest DC heroes of the time. It was a packet with a fabric patch (missing), a letter of welcome signed by Wonder Woman, a 4-page litho comic about the history of the Minutemen, a full-color membership certificate (missing), a Defense Bonds savings booklet, a couple other little propagandist pieces, and then the coolest thing of all: a JJSOA decoder disk! On one side, you spin it until you see the name of the superhero you need for that particular series of coded letters, and on the other side the symbols line up with the letters of the alphabet. Really cool find. There were 3 versions released. The first was in 1942 and the patch was originally a small metal badge, but since metal was needed for the war effort they switched to a little fabric patch. That continued until 1945, and when the war ended they changed the War Bonds booklet to a Defense Bonds booklet. She had the 1945 version. Then there was a 1948 version where the war and defense stuff was no longer included. Wish I had all the pieces. Think I'm gonna put them in a little shadowbox in my geek room.

Picked up the 3 issues of Star Masters from eBay recently. Surfer, Beta Ray Bill & Quasar. Stocked up on a shitload of TPBs from Cheap Graphic Novels, too. Had another box come today. Some Avengers cosmic stuff, Invaders, Elfquest, Spidey, Deathlok... I have lots and lots of stories to poop with. And they are still clearing out their Black Friday stuff. Some really good reads for just a few bucks each.
