Outside of God Of Thunder, what is a good Thor run to pick up via trade? Heard there was a lot of stinkers

The Walt Simonson stuff gets alot of praise, and I like what I've read of it. Thought I'd bring that up since you bought Ragnarok #1. How is it by the way? The local shop didn't get any copies in.

Will take a look for it then. Heard the stuff by Matt Fraction was goo too but was looking for any outside input on what was good and bad
Haven't had time to sit and read it myself. Want me see if any of my local haunts have any more?

Let's wait and see what I have come in at the shop this week. The shipment from last week is getting re-delivered tomorrow due to an C.O.D. error. I appreciate the offer, though.

Thor by JMS and Olivier Coipel is what made me a fan of the character. It's also one of the main sources that the first movie drew upon.

Will check on the JMS run and see if I can find some trades for it. Have a tone of credit at the comic shop and need something to spend it on

Snagged a few new issues at the shop, and he had a customer bring in some more back issues to replenish the dollar boxes.

Thor by JMS and Olivier Coipel is what made me a fan of the character. It's also one of the main sources that the first movie drew upon. That was a good one. Although like so many other JMS comics, it just sort of stopped before the story ended. He does that a lot in his books, and it's annoying and really unprofessional. But his stuff still seems to sell, so I guess Marvel and DC don't mind. I'll still never forgive him for abandoning the great Squadron Supreme series in the middle of a goddamn fight. The story had been building to a confrontation between two characters, and when they fight finally started the issue ended on a cliffhanger... and that was it. He never went back to it. But yeah, his Thor run is good, but mostly for Olivier Coipel's awesome art.

True, he does do that. I'm ecstatic that Dan Slott is finally attempting to finish up the story JMS left off in Amazing Spider-man back in the day. Perhaps he does it purposely, to give the next writer something to springboard off of?
I just picked up the first three issues of Trees by Warren Ellis and Jason Howard and it's great so far. Jason Howard has improved dramatically since the last time I've seen his stuff, which was The Astounding Wolfman.
I also picked up Tuki #1 and am very excited to start reading a Jeff Smith book from ground zero. It's also his first work in color!

Today I got a text from my brother's girlfriend with a pic of a stack of TPBs at the bookstore where she works, asking if I wanted any because the store was throwing them away (it's a college bookstore with a really weird policy on keeping old books, I used to work there a long time ago and there were always stacks of free books for employees).
Anyhow, I got a ton of free shit:
Superman: Birthright X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills Wolverine: Weapon X (the Barry Windsor Smith one) Daredevil: Born Again Spider-Man: Kraven's Last Hunt Batman: Venom Batman: Year One (I already have that one, but this is a newer edition and it was free)
Surprise free comics are the best kind of comics. My brother's girlfriend kicks ass. If he dumps her I'm gonna beat him up.

The bookstore they came from sells mostly college textbooks, so all those comics are slightly used materials for a comic book literature class at IU. When I worked at the store the only comics used for a class were Dark Knight Returns and Watchmen, but superheroes have exploded since so I guess the class has too. It's probably the same class that was started back in the 70s by Michael Uslan, the guy who's listed as a producer on every Batman movie since the Burton one. He was the first person to take an academic approach to comics at a major university. Kinda cool.

Whew! That was a doozy. I got most of these from a website that sells comics by the pound. I bought 50 lbs. (almost a full long box). Lots of doubles, but I got alot of neat stuff, too. Definately got way more value-wise than what I paid. The Angry Christ Comix HC retails for $30 alone, that made up almost half of what I paid for the lot including shipping. Pretty good deal, even if you do end up with an assload of doubles, triples, and so on.

Can somebody recommend a website that sells older comics? I've got some holes in my 90s Ghost Rider series that I'd finally like to finish but there aren't any comic shops around here.

There's also atomicavenue.com and comiccollectorlive.com. Good luck dude. Issues after #87 are tough to come by, and can be expensive. I've seen issue #93 (original final issue) priced at $30 before.

Thanks fellas. I have #94 (the end) which I randomly found in the bookstore a good while ago. OK's suggestion had a ton of what I'm missing with each issue about $3 each so that should help quite a bit. I'll give the other sites look later today. See if they've got some that Mile High is missing.
I really do appreciate this fellas. I've been wanting to finish my Ghost Rider collection for a while now.
