All the commercials for it got me so pumped that I bought the original trilogy on bluray. Its kind of amazing how the first film is nothing at all like the other 2.

I am looking forward to this one in a big way. I'd also like to do a marathon with the first three. Guess I'll have to track them down. I don't care, as much shit as Thunderdome gets, I still enjoy the hell out of it.

I'm still not convinced this movie actually exists. It doesn't seem real that in 2015 a major studio would spend this much money on something this awesome without trying to cram a Transformer or an Avenger into the mix somehow. I hope I'm wrong, but there's at least a 60% chance the Fury Road trailers were one big shared hallucination.

I'm watching it for my birthday. The commercial has a blurb that calls it "The best action movie ever made." I doubt that, but it's enough hyperbole to get me to believe it's awesome.

I find it hilarious that the film is receiving criticism about how having a strong female character is them just shoehorning in some feminism to raise ticket sales of their female audience and that it ruins of the film.

I'm sick of hearing about feminism - related complaints from either side. It's pretty fucking stupid now.

obviously it's not that big of a deal because the movie is still at 99% on RT with over 70 reviews
the average rating is 9/10, that's crazy

Some hardcore misogynist assholes are telling men to boycott Mad Max because it's secretly feminist because Charlize Theron is in it blah blah blah these people are fucking pathetic. I think I'll see it twice this weekend.

Charlize rocks, and the people who have a problem with her can suck a tailpipe that's been hot for 5 hours.

I will say though that while I think its great that they have a strong female lead in Charlize Theron, I do find it slightly disheartening that some reviews are saying that Max himself feels like a secondary character in his own film.

This movie kicked my ass harder than anything I've seen in a theater since The Matrix. My only gripe is it was tough to soak it all in because we had to sit in the 2nd row, and there's just so much shit happening on screen that it was a little overwhelming but in a good way. Is it feminist? Fuck Yes, and awesomely so. It's right up there with Aliens in that respect. If that sort of thing bothers you, if seeing women kick ass and defend themselves offends you as a man then a) this isn't the movie for you, and b) go fuck yourself because you're probably an asshole.
Fury Road is 2 hours long, and there are maybe 10-15 minutes in the whole thing where you have a chance to catch your breath. It's a miles-long old rickety wooden roller coaster of a movie with a rusted out track and a safety bar that doesn't work and no brakes, and a crazy person shoots you up with mescaline before you sit down. You're gonna get bruised, but that's why you took the ride.

From beginning to end, just so badass and heroic and beautiful:
My favorite part kicks in at 3:02.
The soundtrack was killer!

I haven't been able to stop listening to this since you posted it so thanks for that. Guess it's kind of a good thing since Junkie XL is supposedly working with Hans Zimmer on the Batfleck theme. Looking forward to hearing that. And yes 3:02 is where it starts to really kick ass.

Feeling shiny and chrome, boys. That was a fantastic freaking movie. Read that Hardy was pissy and giving Miller grief on set. He didn't understand why he filmed hundreds of hours of footage, feeling it was heading nowhere. When he saw it done he apologized and recognized what it was all done for. The word "strong" feels like it should apply as a blanket over this. From start to finish it was balls-out solid storytelling. What's odd and interesting to me is that with 4 movies in the chain, they all seem mostly disconnected from each other, and just versions of the same rough idea.

I like that about it though. I like that you can watch any of the films and not have to know what happened in the other ones to understand the story.

Oh, I wasn't complaining. I'm glad this didn't try to tie anything together into an organized story or series of events, and pulled influences from the others, like they each before. From the fizzling shotgun shells to the doll head on the helmet of the guy that stabbed Furiosa, all the recalls and homages were a lot of fun to, ahem, witness.

good thing it only takes a few months for movies to get a home release these days
