A little cringe-y for me. Keanu sounds like he's trying and failing at doing a Ted imitation.

Keanu is Ted. Always will be. It's been 29 years. His voice has changed. So has Alex Winter's. Maybe try to find something enjoyable in the nice pretend stupid as a respite from the terrible and very real and very dangerous barreling toward the end of the world stupid.

Just announced Tenet had its release delayed "indefinitely".
I don't think there will be any more major wide theatrical releases in 2020. Thanks Trump.

How long do the studios think they can sit on their major releases in the hopes they'll be able to release them in theaters in usual blockbuster fashion?
Years?
Cause that's how long it will be before tbat's realistically going to happen.
If ever.

They're waiting for that one weekend in fall when we've stupidly decided, again, that it's over and we can cram into theaters again. They'll charge $150 a ticket, and the showings will sell out because we are who we are. Total win.
Yeah, I'd like to see some of these dammit. They'll have to figure something new out.

My wife has been really pissed about how long Wonder Woman '84 has already been fucking delayed. The smartest thing to do with it and others might be what Orion is doing with Bill and Ted and simultaneously release the movie On Demand in the US and in theaters where it's deemed safe and things are returning to something resembling normal (China, South Korea, Germany, etc), and I assume also states like Texas, Florida, and Arizona where state officials are pretending everything is fine and shove their fingers in their ears and shout "LA! LA! LA! LA! LA! LA!" every time anyone mentions the coronavirus. The studios may not make a billion dollars on Wonder Woman and some other big movies they have tentatively planned for release soon, but there must be some kind of losses if they hang onto numerous expensive movies indefinitely, too. Especially if "indefinitely" stretches into years like it could with Wonder Woman and New Mutants, both having already been delayed over a year already.

They're gonna have to put a big ol' asterisk next to the 2020 box office numbers. I still don't think we'll see any more major releases this year.

Disney is putting Mulan on Disney+ for a $30 premiere rental on top of the subscription fees people are already paying.

I liked one of them a lot, but I can't remember which one it was. I wanna say the second one, but I can't be sure anymore.

I definitely prefer the second one because of Jared Harris as Moriarty and the cat and mouse game he plays with Holmes but the first was still solid.

That trailer is... god damn.
Time to give Daniel Kaluuya his Oscar.

I like Daniel Kaluuya a lot, but since my sister used to date Bokeem Woodbine (nice guy), who was in the movie Panther in 1995, I'm going to ask what I know he's probably asking, and that's weren't there any American black actors who could've played Fred Hampton? Anyway, I'm personally glad to see Daniel Kaluuya and Lakeith Stanfield in another movie together.

Just saw a commercial for the new mutants and it said "in theaters august 28".
Yeah, that's some wishful thinking there.

We just need to stop testing for the virus and it'll go away. #TRUMPLOGIC
Kinda like how a drunk driver isn't actually drunk until you give them a BAC test.

I've been watching the MCU in order from the beginning again, with the wife. Just finished Thor The Dark World. I was dreading it, but because of my low expectations I ended up enjoying it more than I expected. Still has a very boring villain and a conflict I didn't care about, but the Loki stuff was all really good and I liked the music.

I haven't watched that one all the way through once. But I've seen it all, catching bits and pieces on TV. It never pulled me in, boring. The bland color palette doesn't do it any favors, especially against the visual glory that was Ragnarok. Yeah, it's called Dark World, but geez. lol

I don’t hate Thor 2 the way some people do, but it’s definitely near the bottom of the MCU barrel.
But my favorite thing about Thor 2 is how even though it’s nobody’s favorite movie, the writers of Endgame made it crucial to that movie’s plot. A movie pretty much everyone loves has a whole section retelling parts of a movie nobody really likes.

Same, here. I never hated it. In fact, the first time I watched it, I enjoyed it more than the first movie - which I also didn't hate. But a couple years ago, I was going through phase 2 with a friend who had just gotten into the MCU and wanted to catch up with them before Infinity War came out, and when we got to Thor 2, I was bored out of my mind. Because of that, which was the last time I had seen it, my expectations this time around were super low.
Yeah, the color palette is super boring looking, but in many ways, they improved the aesthetic from the first movie. Thor's hair was cooler, with the braids thrown in and the wilder look. The fight choreography and cinematography was better than in the first movie. You get some glimpses of Asgard looking a little less shiny and artificial. The movie had a lot of potential that wasn't used though.
We only just finished Thor 2, but I'm really jonesing to just skip to the Spider-man movies and Endgame.
