Sebastian Stan (dude who plays Winter Soldier) has a 9 (9!) picture deal with Marvel. Holy shit. NINE FUCKING MOVIES. And since we also know Chris Evans is only signed on for 3 more (Cap 3, Avengers 2&3) I think this makes it pretty clear to people who know the comics what Marvel's longterm plan is for the Captain America movies. I won't say exactly what in case some folks don't know the story, but it's a good one. Something they could easily stretch out for years and years. www.bleedingcool.com/2014/03/14/sebastian-stan-has-a-nine-picture-deal-with-marvel/

Doesn't that kinda spoil that he's not gonna die? That's why I avoid these threads...

They announced his deal before First Avenger came out, but not many people noticed. Hey Raz, the fact that you weren't sure whether or not he would die in The Winter Soldier makes me very excited for you. From now on, I suggest trying very hard to avoid any further reading of Winter Soldier and Cap related articles concerning the movies and comics. Unless you want to read the comics first. But if you don't read the comics, you'll be in for an awesome treat in the cinematic universe.

You should read the comics. Ed Brubaker's run on Captain America starting with the Winter Soldier arc all the way through Cap Reborn is a hugely epic piece of superhero storytelling. I can't recommend those books highly enough.

Wow, that's pretty big if it's true. Not that it's good news for fans, but it says a lot about what a shit pile the original direction was headed to be.

Considering they want to start shooting at the same time, it seems like they're setting themselves up for failure no matter what. At least it's on the F4 it's happening to. Well, Batman vs Superman is kinda the same thing, but at least they're taking extra time to suck not quite so much. LOL

One can only hope it's such total shit that Marvel gets Dr. Doom and The Thing (the only parts of the F4 I care about) back and do them right.

That won't happen anytime soon. The only real reason Fox is making a new FF movie is to hang onto the rights. As long as that film gets made, the rights to the Four does not go back to Marvel. Doesn't matter how much the movie sucks as long as there is a movie.

It will suck every crooked space dong from galaxy to galaxy. Count on it. The only thing, ONLY thing, from the other 2 that was okay was Thing. They will not do any better this time.

My hope at this point is that Fox does some type of cost-benefit analysis of the last two FF movies and decides it's just not worth it after all and puts all their money towards the X-Men franchise and lets the FF go back to Marvel. The rights come with some of the coolest parts of the Marvel Universe and it would be awesome to have it all in the MCU. Galactus, Dr Doom, Silver Surfer, Namor, the Skrulls, the Kree, the Negative Zone.... all that stuff needs to go in the MCU toybox where it belongs.

They may have some kind of duality agreement like with Pietro and Wanda, but the Kree are in the MCU toybox. Ronan the accuser is Kree, and he will be in the Guardians of the Galaxy. The Kree have also been mentioned on Agents of Shield, which, though on tv, is part of that universe, as well. Also, Namor's rights belong to Universal.

I was finally able to pick up Thor TDW yesterday and I loved it. Even more fun that the first and I thought the first one was a blast. I was kind of sad to see that the Warriors Three were damn near absent the entire movie. It's not something that ruins it or anything but I love those guys. On the other hand the banter between Thor and Loki and the soundtrack was great though. And I can see what everybody means when they say the movie feels like it got a ton of cuts. I think something similar happened with the first one just a little less obvious. Still way better than Iron Man 3.
Also I'm so glad Marvel knows that movies based on comics don't have to be based in realism and can delve into fantasy every once and a while. That said I wonder what the chances of Beta Ray Bill showing up in Thor 3?

Doesn't matter how much the movie sucks as long as there is a movie. Daredevil was on its way to a quick shoot so they could keep its rights, too, but they just let it fall through close to the end and now it's back with Marvel. It can happen. It kinda sucks that Josh Trank is being shit on like that if this is true. I guess one good way of looking at it is that now he can go and do something better. I was worried that this would bomb because I really liked Chronicle and if his second movie ever didn't do well I have a feeling he wouldn't have gotten many more chances. Also, damn Fox, have some integrity. If true, this really does show that they don't know what the fuck to do with the FF.

Fox is denying the rumor, and the guy at Bleeding Cool who "broke the story" doesn't exactly have a spotless track record. It's probably not true at all, which actually kinda sucks because Marvel not having the Fantastic Four in their stable is almost as bad as not having Spider-Man. Worse, when you realize all the other characters that come with the rights. And I could've sworn Namor was part of that rights package, and that he was gonna be in the third FF movie before it got rebooted.

It's true. Fox made an X-Men movie, then a year later 9/11 happened. Coincidence? Maybe.
