So far I've got all the MCU movies on Blu-ray except Incredible Hulk (got the Target exclusive DVD but I'll get on Blu-ray eventually) and Thor: TDW (which I don't have the cash for atm).

You should just buy it. It's really good. But that's like nineteen more dollars for the same experience. And it'll be on netflix in 6 months and stay there for at least 2 years after that, then a year from then when it's not available for immediate viewing anywhere else and I have to see it again, I'll buy it. Or you know, some time in between. One day when I have a pile of money sitting around I'd like to buy all the Marvel Studios movies on blu-ray, but they've been pretty accessible through other venues this whole time which makes it tough for a cheapass like me to put money toward them. You know my life, dawg. It's the same as yours.

In my experience, when you quit spending all your cash on hardcore narcotics you have more to spend on Blu-rays and toys. Sometimes you miss the sweet, sweet taste of smack coursing through your veins, but a good movie can put out that fire.
...I've never done heroin. I'm not cool enough. Lou Reed I am not.

Haven't had time yet to sit down and rewatch Thor 2 yet (really busy week in okcomputerland), but I did watch the All Hail The King short film on the Bluray. It's awesome, especially if you loved Trevor Slattery in Iron Man 3 as much as I did. It takes his story to the logical conclusion in the context of the first Iron Man movie, and sets up a possible storyline for something else in the future, whether it's another short film or an episode of Agents of SHIELD. It's just really cool, and it has another fun cameo that I won't spoil. Agent Carter is still the best short they've done so far, but this one is a very close second.

Damn, I gotta see these. I've only seen All Hail The King and it was incredible, I can't say anything else without insulting a bunch of good movies but it was perfect.

Damn, I gotta see these. I've only seen All Hail The King and it was incredible, I can't say anything else without insulting a bunch of good movies but it was perfect. The first couple of One Shots (on the Thor and Captain America Blurays) are much shorter than the later ones, but Coulson is the main character so they're really fun. Item 47 is the short on The Avengers disc, and that was when they started to get longer and more complex. Item 47 also stars the uber-hot Lizzy Caplan so it's got that going for it too. But the Agent Carter short on the Iron Man 3 disc is just plain awesome. You should really track that one down. It's worth renting Iron Man 3 just for that.

I plan on watching these once I own the Phase 1 box set. I hope nothing gets spoiled until then. Because that's a long way off. Can't even afford bills...

Doesn't the Peggy carter one lead into something more they have planned later on?

Supposedly they're doing an Agent Carter TV show, and if you've seen the short you know that's a REALLY good idea.

I just watched the other One-Shots thanks to the dark part of the internet. I loved 'em all! The Coulson ones made me grateful we have Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. now, the good of that series really does outweigh the mediocre at this point. Agent Carter was easily the best of the first 4, it was freaking awesome and I hope it becomes a series, but All Hail The King is still my favorite. You guys did see the stuff duing All Hail The King's credits, right? Comedic perfection.

The bit where the "interviewer" shows the old 70s pilot is awesome. Trevor's reaction was classic. And it's cool as hell that Kingsley agreed to do something like this.

New Winter Soldier poster is awesome: I love how they managed to give him the cool mask from the comics without actually giving him a mask. I'm so fucking pumped for this movie...

It's got too much potential.
Just because the actors aren't "FANBOY CAST FAVORITES" doesn't mean they can't pull it off.

Miles Teller is Shia Lebouf's replacement and I hate him almost as much and he's playing the smartest man alive.
Dr. Doom is my #1 favorite villain. I really hope they get him right this time around.
Chronicle is one of my favorite movies that have come out in the last ten years. I eagerly await anything new from Max Landis or Josh Trank.

JOHNNY STORM CAN'T BE BLACKCKCKCK1111! 1111! 1! These kinds of push-back are just going the other extreme of the fanboys without addressing anything. There's room in the middle for proper trepidation and concern for people who care about what is produced. Celty hates comics and comic fans, so there's not going to be much argument from him that isn't intentionally inflammatory and gleefully spiteful, as long as it upsets people who have enjoyed the property for much of their lives. Although I grant that, in his way, that was somewhat meant to be constructive. From the pics I've seen, they just all look too young to pull off the characters in the comic. The average age of an astronaut for NASA is 34. These people all look like they'd still get carded at a high school kegger in Date Rape Forest, forget going into space. It's a matter of believability, and I just don't see some goon with baby fat being able to pull off Richards without looking like the obnoxious nerd baby neighbor on "My Wife And Kids".

Miles Teller has an obnoxious accent and demeanor, which doesn't really match Reed. Reed is distant and neglects his wife, sure, but he's not obnoxious.
Frin, in Ultimate FF, they're child geniuses who go to a special school where NASA recruits from and occasionally steals ideas from when they have science fairs, so they're probably going that route.

That's what I wondered. I had written "no matter what continuity they pull from" but took it out. I know they want to appeal to younger audiences first in order to make the moneys, and this is the way. You know I don't like the F4, so you know I'm not worried about them being mishandled, and I don't care about big names being in it. They just look so...generic.

I only want to see a good representation of Doom. But I have low expectations. Invisible Woman is pretty cool in the comics I've read that feature her, like Civil War and Age of Ultron, but that's as far as my interest in them as comic characters goes.

Come to think of it, I really dislike Reed, too. And yeah, Grimm is pretty cool, too. I can't see Jamie Bell pulling off the gentle giant from the Bronx who says things like "My sweet aunt Petunia". Michael Chiklis was perfect.
