One thing I've noticed is the plastic Evangelists seem to have flown the coop. I think as soon as it was obvious he was going to lose they abandoned him to search for the next Flawed Messiah.

It will be losing his Twitter that finally enrages the rapist. This will spur him to mobilize his retard army, and they are fucking fired up right now. His rancid cult is angrier about this than they would ever be about his impeachment or removal by the 25th. Twitter doing the right thing - that they arguably should have done years ago - is what will take us from smoldering heap to all-out conflagration. Great job, America of the last 40 years!

This melting pot of aggrieved white people of all classes that worship a mentally deficient, sadistic rapist-of-all-things all believe they're John fucking Rambo, when in reality they're just ignorant and broken Deputy Mitch without the conscience.
It really, truly boggles my mind to think that so many had no clue who Trump was and figured "what could really go wrong?". And it's even more flabbergasting to think that, while he might have lost 20 million supporters (100% a guess) which would mean he gained 35 million different people after that. The education and mental wellness of Americans is being sorely exposed as a failure by all of us. And the vacuum that neglect has left in generations was filled by a fragmented and fantastical social media education that we are really only now learning the depth and dire consequences of.

Just perused some of our posts from before the 2016 election. Gents, we all had it exactly right and every other motherfucker in the country that waited, hesitated, hemmed and hawed and just didn't believe this cancerous fuck was going to be the end is as guilty as he is of everything. No one who has ever been behind him should be granted an ounce of clemency. Not one. There are some honestly and earnestly working to undo what they helped cause. But they will hopefully go to their graves with the burning in their heart that they were complicit. Guilty and stained forever.

Agreed, frin. Early last summer when it became clear the pandemic was going to last much longer than we had hoped and would kill lots and lots of people, I remember talking to people who said stuff like "I knew Trump would be bad but I honestly didn't think it would get this bad". To which I replied, "I did". I didn't know if it would be a mishandled pandemic or a catastrophic war or a series of terrorist attacks, but I think I always knew there was no way this "presidency" would end without a massive, staggering body count. And I haven't gone back and read my posts from before the 2016 election, but I'm sure I'd cringe at my naivete. I was 100% certain Trump would lose in a landslide, and when he cheated his way into a "win" via rounding error, I was devastated. But I picked myself up and got to work kicking his fat ass out of our house without resorting to violence or insurrection. We dealt with the loss by organizing voters registration efforts and issue campaigns, while they handled their 2020 defeat by resorting to fascist violence and killing cops. We're better than they are. We have two more days of this asshole, and the fact that we're all still nervous about what these 48 hours could bring is a perfect illustration of the damage this madman has done to our country. Goddamn did Putin get his money's worth. And speaking of perfect encapsulations of the nightmare of the past 4 (5, really) years, Tom Tomorrow just published his last cartoon of the Trump presidency and it's a doozy:

And you may well have been right had Comey not dropped his 11th hour letter. Well, maybe not the landslide part, but it's generally widely agreed that Hillary would have squeaked it out had he not done that. I really am curious how many people either changed their vote or decided to vote when they hadn't planned to because of Comey.
By taking Twitter away it does feel as if a LOT of momentum was dissolved. The threats are out there, many, and real, and we have decades of education and deprogramming to deal with. But I think that one simple act has been devastating to the drive many had felt to destroy their country on their president's word. The movement may have shed most of those people whose lives were never anything more than comfortable and boring, but they hate libs and love Rush and fell in line with the incessant beat of war drums by the right-wing propaganda machine. I imagine without the bans of Trump and the rest, we would have seen some really scary and bloody results this past weekend. Like the comic you posted, no one's changed their mind, they still believe the lies, and they will get their feet back under them soon enough and start building temples to the rapist and give people like MTG and her Qanon ilk more support. But for right now taking away Twitter absolutely froze them.
Anything they do after Wednesday just guarantees that they won't ever enjoy majority rule without actually achieving what they tried to do on Jan 6th. And I don't believe that will ever be allowed to get that close to happening again.
I read the rapist wants to raise $2 billion from his adoring rape victims for his library. And they will put a pillow over their grandmother's face while she's sleeping in order to make sure he gets it. Then he can contract a million-dollar stucco shack, not pay the laborers, fill it with old National Geographics he's unloaded from apartments of dead New York hoarders and put the rest in his pocket. And they will fucking love him for it.

Yeah, banning him from Twitter feels almost like a death blow. Trump is a lot of things but he's a narcissist first and foremost, and taking away his main source of adoration is like forcing an addict to quit heroin cold turkey. That one small move could destroy him all by itself. The Twitter ban won't fix everything because his supporters are still out there, but without a constant stream of their God Emperor's 2 AM hate-sharts to validate their insecurities they could easily wind up lost, like a hive-mind without a queen.
Same thing with Amazon effectively shutting down Parler by booting them off their servers. There are other right-wing extremist circlejerk forums for these people to plot their next coup just as soon as their cousin's pregnancy test comes back negative, but none with the massive reach and stable infrastructure as Twitter. There's still a clear danger that someone else comes along to lead the cult, a smarter person with the same fascist tendencies but with the impulse control of a functioning adult. That's what we need to be watching out for in the immediate future, and we need to stop it cold as soon as it starts. Ironically, the photo of that mini-Hitler Josh Hawley raising his fist in support of the mob about to storm the Capitol and murder a cop is instantly iconic. It will define him forever, and it might just neuter his career before it really gets started.
Hopefully Trump's Twitter ban really is permanent, because he'll never stoop so low as to join a place like Parler or Gab. Those places don't have near the reach of Twitter, and the only active users are the rabid hardcore base that he pretends to love but in reality despises. He hates them but he needs their love, but he also needs everyone else to see that love. He can't get that on Parler.

I feel like Boebert is a remedial Cliffs Notes version of Sarah Palin for the developmentally disabled, depicting her entire rise and fall inside of a year. "I can see Congress from my gun site!" Anyone who gets into politics over guns is a fucking void of humanity and intellect.
Cruz and Hawley, craven opportunist reptiles that they are, will take up the mantle of Trumpism and build on it. Their fates are TBD as they may end up being expelled from the Senate and future service but they are snake oil salesmen to their cores and will always find a way to lower the bar to step over and reach more people. They may be greasy stains, but they're actually educated and smart and have the same survival instincts that the orange rapist has. You know Hawley is working the angles right now, only reason he's quiet. He knows he'll have another chance.
I just hope to fuck that jabbering idiots like Gohmert, Blackburn, Paul, Jordan, Gaetz, the rest of the old and all of the new class of fucktard anti-democratic republicans are marginalized and made impotent over the next few years.

And I don't see why we even bother talking about stupid garbage like the rapist's ex-hooker wife not giving Jill Biden a tour. This is not news, not newsworthy in the era of this fuckhole family of fascists.
It's catty bullshit gossip adding nothing in a horror story that's ending with the outgoing president, who is already directly responsible for hundreds of thousands of his citizens dead, throwing a tantrum in the form of declaring war on America for not letting him have his way.
This is why honest and reality-based people have a hard time with the media at-large.

We all knew it was going to happen at 12:01pm EST on the 20th. We all knew the miserable sleazy republicans would all groupfuck each other into the weird little gang again and become the party of fiscal and moral responsibility. These goddamned liars, these slimy soulless sacks of trash.
The deficit! Save our grandchildren! Biden has already spent us into poverty forever with his dangerous covid relief package! We're doomed!
A fat rapist spent EIGHT TRILLION FUCKING DOLLARS inside of 4 years for abolutely nothing more than the attention it got him for 10 minutes from actual rich people. Who are all horrible, I promise. But the second Dr. Jill Biden spends fifty bucks on Halloween candy you damn well know they're going to introduce articles of impeachment against Joe for misappropriation.
Also, seriously, fuck cancer. What is taking it so long to end Rush?

I'm not impatient, I just know how this government and the people who made it all work. The windows have nearly all closed, the doors of opportunity are slamming shut fast.
5 years of open and rampant crime by an entire national party and its leader will be brushed aside. Maybe a few token terrorists will be convicted at this point, thousands will be given amnesty. All will be made martyrs. Mitch still apparently runs the Senate, let's not pretend otherwise. He's always had Manchin, and he's got his hooks in enough other Ds whose personal ambition outweighs their sense of duty. 2 years of gridlock loudly blamed on none but Democrats will lead to massive republican wins in 2022, and we'll end up with a Cruz/Hawley winning ticket in 2024. After that, it could well be Cruz for life. They learned what NOT to do from this insurrection in order to make the next one work.

Mitch has something up his sleeve by dropping his demand. I get there's a proper discussion to be had for losing and keeping the filibuster, but the democrats need to start legislating the way republicans do, and just fucking roll ahead without giving a wet shit about how the other side feels about it. Kick the feet out from turtle boy. If it suits them to remove it, do it and then whip up some reason that it can come back later. They need to learn from Mitch, and that's exactly what he'd do.
So, let's see...Trump is threatening R senators to acquit him or he'll help whoever runs against them. Cool, more crime without consequence. Republicans have fully embraced the phrase "private citizen" to refer to scumbag in their galvanizing refusal to hold the rapist accountable for raping us, them, the rule of law and everything this nation used to idealize. So we couldn't hold him responsible for his crimes while he was president, because he was president. But now they argue that because he's not president we can't hold him accountable for the crimes he did while being president. I hate them all.

Republican logic towards this impeachment trial is like if police decided not to chase after a bank robber once he got in the getaway car.
Also, McConnell is 78 years old and looks like warm shit on a good day, and there was that thing last fall where his hands turned FUCKING BLACK for some reason. He won't be around forever.

He won't be. He probably admits to himself this is likely his last term. But he can sure fuck up a lot more stuff in the next few years unless Ds neuter him at every available opportunity. Because if he and his demonic priest-doctor specializing in black sludge and living horror are more aware than we're led to know of just how much time he really has, Mitch is going to burn the earth just like the rapist. And the rotted landscape he leaves behind will be that much more devastating and lasting.

One of my senators, Tim Kaine, a Democrat, is pushing for his colleagues in the Senate to censure Donald Trump in lieu of conviction (and depending on the report, in lieu of the Senate trial itself). I saw somebody on Twitter saying that it's a strategy to get Republicans to agree that Trump should at least be censured, so they can be pressured into going further and convict him. Maybe I'm distracted by intense pain or it's due to inadequate sleep, but I fancy myself fairly politically savvy, and I'm struggling quite a bit to figure out how one gets them to work UP from basically the softest thing the Senate can do when they're given that as an option.

If it becomes clear that Senate Republicans won't convict Trump (which they should, it's in the long-term interest of that party to cut ties with that madman as soon as possible), then Democrats should shift their focus somewhat and put the entire Republican party on trail, along with their propaganda outfits, for playing along for months with the Big Lie that ended in a violent, deadly coup attempt. It probably won't be enough to shame them into doing the right thing (because you can't shame the shameless), but it needs to be made crystal clear at every opportunity that the Republican Party has declared war on the concept of democracy in this country.

Kaine should not have vocalized the truth on this. No Democrat should have, it was very harmful. It only served to strengthen the resolve of Rs to continue being the worst people imaginable as a unified group, and they know full-well now that their rapist overlord will get off scot-free. And because of that, so will they. Why change when there's no consequence?
If rapist runs again, and wins, America is absolutely dead on that date and we will become a dictatorship where presidents rule for life. There's no drama in how I say that, no exaggeration, no hyperbole. It's truth. Donald Trump is the death of America. There's a tiny window of opportunity to destroy him, but we always err on the side of fucking retarded. And I have zero faith in enough people doing the right thing.
Censure. Fuck that shit. Meaningless in the Trump era. Jesus Christ, when will his fat fucking heart just explode. :/

AOC talking smack about traders circling the wagons after the hilarious exposure of their silly game was good. TedgoddamnCruz agreeing was sleazy pandering. AOC slapping his fat hand away and stating plainly that she will gladly work with any Rs that didn't actively try to have her murdered, was fucking beautiful. She gets it. Not many of them seem to, even many Ds, and most people are ready to move on. It happened sooooooo long ago. Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, and a score of other republican elected officials actively and willfully encouraged the idiots in thrall to them to murder their political opponents and their penisless vice president. This should be tattooed on the forehead of every single motherfucker that has ever been behind the rapist, if even for a second. No absolution ever. The nation should be fucking split right now. The calls for unity are only being made by the guilty and the lazy, and both of those groups can rot.

So sorry to hear. Hang in there, I've been through both parents and in-laws (just lost my mother in law two weeks ago). Going to take some time to come to grips with it. You'll make it through, although it's not easy when you lose a parent. Pick out something of your mother's and keep it with you. I've been carrying my father's license in my wallet since 1984. It's like carrying a little piece of him with me at all times. What's your favorite memory of her?

Thanks for the kind words guys. I just don’t know how to do this.
