Last month, for the first time since probably 1993, I bought a new album (brand new, released this year) on cassette tape. I’m fuckin hardcore with my physical media.

Delta-8 THC edible gummies, total game changer.
I'm no chemist, but from what I understand there's a very slight difference in the molecular bond in delta-8 compound vs delta-9 (the compound in regular THC). It's enough of a difference to put delte-8 in a legal gray area so states where weed is still fully criminalized (but where CBD is legal) can sell it in dispensary shops.
Over the past several months I've realized cannabis edibles have a *fantastic* effect on chronic depression, but since our stupid legislature in Indiana won't even decriminalize weed for medicinal use I've been relying on the old method of knowing a guy who knows a guy who gets stuff from Colorado. A few months ago I got a decent sized bad of 100mg gummies, and was cutting them in half because 50mg is the perfect amount to even me out when I get to feeling like absolute shit. Even after the high wears off, the calming relaxation effect lasts for a good 24-36 hours. It was miraculous. But once the bag was empty, after a couple weeks that relentless motherfucker Depression and his asshole roommate Anxiety showed back up and set up shop in my brain. So yesterday I went to the CBD shop by my house and picked up a bottle of delta-8 gummies. Not cheap, $60 for a bottle of 20 100mg gummies, but it's worth a shot. Tonight I'll see if they work as well as the real stuff.
Long story short, it's completely insane that in 2021 marijuana is still illegal in so many states, even for medicinal use. I could get a prescription for the super-addictive opioids that are literally destroying communities all over the state, but to track down a natural plant-based remedy I have to go through back channels just to feel better. I could drive to Illinois where it's fully decriminalized, but why run the risk of getting pulled over and having some asshole cop tear apart my car looking for some goddamn Sour Patch Kids.

Your last paragraph echoes what I and millions of others were saying in the 80s and 90s, and those before in the 60s and 70s. But since then there's actually been major progress, and me buying all of those High Times magazines back in the day to learn how to build my own vaporizer the size of a goddamn fish tank feels justified now. Kidding. But there's much progress with more to come. The dominoes have fallen. It's just a (probable) short matter of time before it's legal and accessible everywhere. Seems like (R)s are much more on the weed train than anyone, they see the money and control benefit in it just like all other medicine and/or vice. So, soon. That's really good it's helping you. It can do wonders for mindset and mood without just being a mask, like alcohol, which inevitably, always, becomes destructive and debilitating. Helps me tremendously with mind and body. I'm often in some kind of pain and weed really helps dull the edges. And, since last October when I started smoking again after 20+ years, my attitude and attention towards the republican rape and wanton destruction of reality has softened, if my perspective is still in the shitter. I've tried gummies, cookies, chocolate, tinctures, and I even bought a fucking convection vaporizer to cut down on actual smoke inhalation. But I keep going back to the one-hitter or pipe. I don't smoke much, a couple hits every couple of hours or before bed. The ingestion method is not very effective for me, like at all. I feel almost nothing, and I've tried them more than enough. I get a much more relaxing and, most importantly, pain-relieving effect only from smoking. The vaporizer is just such a pain in the ass to deal with, such a bad design. Maybe I shouldn't have gotten a portable one. But I don't want to spend more to find a better one, or find out it still ain't right for me. Convection heat just doesn't seem to convert and deliver as effectively as fire. I bought a pack of papers to see if I could still roll. I wasted 5 papers before I admitted to myself I never could roll and that's why I always carried around my Rizla roller. Though in a pinch I could eke one out with a dollar bill. Gonna have to look into those Delta8 gummies, hadn't heard of them. Is it a less noticeable in physical effect but still good on mental support?

I mean, seriously. This one-eyed fucking Texas jagoff, like all republicans, has ZERO sense of irony, optics or plain common sense. This has to be real, it's just too subtle for the likes of the reich-wing. My favorite comment: "Glad to see he’s branching out from just doing eye socket stuff!" Also, how is this not a continuing terrorist threat tied to the rapist's years-long campaign of treachery and treason? They just think it's a rape party all day. Dan "The Skull-Fucked" Crenshaw belongs under the prison with the rest of 'em. Any trump-sucking right-winger who aborts themselves using the 2nd amendment method this year will gain my unending gratitude. And I won't piss on their grave.

I had one of the Delta 8's on Saturday night, and the high itself felt very similar to the regular THC gummies I'm used to. I took the same 50mg dosage, and the initial onset of the effects felt a little different but the effects lasted for several hours and the relaxation effect lasted well into Sunday. The real test will be if taking 50mg of Delta 8 once a weekend for a few weeks in a row has the same effect of staving off bouts of depression/anxiety as the regular stuff did. Either way, the fact that I can walk into a dispensary and buy the stuff with zero hassle is itself just such a huge relief.

I feel genuinely sorry for the people who have to live in Texas where government doesn’t exist and the free market is incapable of failure.

Abbott is one of the most douchey and murdery (R)s out there, and he's been gloating since winter about how fucking shitty his state is and how no one outside can do anything about it and no one inside wants to. Each crisis is met with his waist-high cheerleader screeching to say the exact opposite of what's happening. And his people eat it up. The Internet Age has somehow led us to be even more ignorant and unprepared than ever, and open to all kinds of ridiculous propaganda. We are contrarian by nature, so of course our response to having access to the most information possible is to become the most ignorant society imaginable.
Austin used to be the only tolerable thing about that miserable state, a holdout of hope in a barren wasteland of ignorance and fearmongering through religion. Thanks to the dogged ambitions of dangerous fuckers known as Texas republicans, they finally killed even the spirit of Austin.
But I believe they will transition just fine back to a frontier state, all guns and outlaws again. Texas will look like North Korea on satellite images at night in a few years.

But I truly believe that's what (R)Texans want. Ask any (R) there about going back to the 1800s, a "better time". I'm probably more right than not. They want a pre-electric, pre-industrial theonomy of fundamentalist rule. Living in a society where growth and progress are worthy goals scares the shit out of these people. They only have the capacity to be responsible to their clan and kin, and the GAWD that made them all. Anything more than that and they become crippled with fear from ideas and are wracked with doubt and indecision. You know, the kinds of things that help push people to look for answers, to change and grow.

Yeah, that should've been cheerleading not cheerleader. Sounds like I'm talking about someone else. No, he's his own best cheerleader. I don't feel bad for the guy. He's also his own victim in that regard.

The internet in general, but social media in particular, has done more harm than good to global society. When "do your own research" doesn't mean seeking out scholarly journals and published academic papers but instead going to YouTube and watching some smooth-brained dumbass explain how the vaccine makes their face magnetic when really all they're doing is showing the world how nasty and greasy and sticky their skin is. For all the good things the internet has borne over the last couple decades, the terrifying rise of disinformation especially over the last few years makes me wonder if it was worth it.

Nurses have to learn and know a great deal. And the work is fucking hard and gross and heartbreaking and thankless. But there's also a loooooot of downtime and these people seek to work and live in tight, comforting groups of like-minded others which limits outside input. I guess surfing YT and no-name "news" sites with catchy headlines and triggering phrases at 3am on a quiet night at the ER, mixed with a desire to help people that's been warped by a lifetime of being force-fed religious dogma, really fucking destroys parts of those precious minds. Also, stupid fucking wastes of space often become things we don't expect them to. Like nurses, or presidents.
There was that one bodybuilder nurse that ignored all warnings, evidence and common sense to go party for a week in Florida. He ended up on a ventilator, lost something like 50 pounds and nearly died. Then, he got better and STILL promoted ignoring the goddamn pandemic for the righteous desire to drop X and dance in soap bubbles with hundreds of other selfish murdery fuckers. He went to Mexico to do it again and just waved off criticism as "survival of the fittest."

So the touring company of The Rapey Horror Picture Show made it to Ohio and the inbred audience of shortbus motherfuckers all remembered to bring their toast to throw. Seriously, I can't imagine there was one single sentence vomited out by the terrorist cunt fucks that got on that stage that can't be found in a hundred other video clips of their rage rallies.
Not surprising the anti-freedom pro-fear dopes that went were there to hear the greatest hits rather than anything new. They believe in some fantasy of the controlling power of white supremacy and slavery before the Civil War, but with the convenience of modern day appliances and goddamn fat-finger flip phones. So they think there's some weird 1952 they can all go back to and stay forever. That they still desperately cling to their rapist retard king is not even sad anymore. I just want them all to die from covid.

That's fucked up. Richardson is amazing, and the fact that she smokes weed and still runs faster than Wonder Woman makes her even more so. Yes, she knew the rules about banned substances, but unless she's loading up a bong with human growth hormone and cheetah DNA, the Olympics need to chill the fuck out.
She was tested in Oregon, where weed is legal. She's 21, and her mother passed away last month. So she's losing her shot at at least one Olympic medal for managing her grief with a legal substance. This is super fucked up.

I wonder if anyone has ever considered a theory of some kind, with a critical focus on how, maybe, perceptions skew the scales of justice in favor of some and against others. But I might just be dreaming.
Hope she gets to run. I love watching the Olympics.

I fucking love it when the gas company shuts off my service for "meter maintenance" on a Thursday morning, and by the time I get home and find the door tag and call them and actually speak to a human being there aren't any available appointments to reconnect my service until Monday. And then they have the fucking gall to charge me $60 to turn the fucking gas back on after 72 hours with no hot water. They said they mailed out notifications about the maintenance, but I signed up for paperless billing and get no mailings from the company.
If anything is gonna turn me into a full-blown anti-capitalist, it's utility monopolies.

Yup. We're getting hosed by the city on water. They're getting greedy and want to raise rates on the people living in the foothills because they're rich as shit. They're outside city limits, and there was a deal up till now with the county to keep rates even across the board. We're also considered outside the city limits, so our rates are going up, too, by possibly as much as 40%. Fuckin' cocknuts.

The racist god-sucking cunt has gotten enough passes for being in rad movies in the 80s. But Mel Gibson is now and forever dead to me. No more movies with him again for me by any choice. Fuck that guy. He saluted that murdering orange rapist at some sweaty man underpants party this weekend. Gibson, who never served, saluted a rapist mobster who had his daddy pay to have him avoid serving.
And millions of soldiers and veterans will still lap up the runny junkie shitwater either one of those ridiculous losers flushes out of their cornhole because of Gawd & MURKA, and they won't even ask for a spoon or a napkin.

I haven't given a damn about him for a long time, but I'd still let his movies play if they came on. No mas. Mel's dead, baby. Mel's dead.
And if Jodi Foster, or any other director, wants to give him another redemption shot they can eat and choke on massive gobs of asshole meat from dead whales.
