Been hunting for Azrael comics and found his Agent of The Bat full run on ebay, but wondering if its better to grab these locally or not? Just worried about damage in shipping or their shit once they get here

Anytime I've got a comic from eBay it was shipped well. The best thing you could do is find your comic and then check that sellers feedback.

^Which is how ebay works. ;D I just got TF:Regeneration One's Free Comic Book Day issue because I was never sent a copy by Midtown Comics (who is my store). Comic arrived no problem.

Was checking their feedback and they're 99.9% and looks like only sell comics so might take the plunge with it. Just didn't want to spent the 250 shipped and they're in shit condition.

I've bought lots of comics off eBay, and they've all been in pretty good shape. If it's just a few issues they'll probably come in one of those USPS envelopes that don't bend easily.
But then again I'm not usually that concerned with the condition of my comics. As long as they aren't shredded all to hell I'm fine.

I'd like to read them once or twice to know the story. If they came in a trade or something I'd go that route but can't find any

If they sell comics regularly, I wouldn't hesitate.

All the time. Comic shippers are usually a little anal about how they ship, I've never received something just sent in an envelope. I just bought three long boxes from a guy in Wisconsin. He shipped them in a custom made UPS box that wasn't even dented when I received it. You should be able to find those issues pretty cheap I think. Full run shipped from NYC to Vancouver BC was 250. Breaks down to 2.50 a comic so thats cheaper than buying them one at a time and honestly cheaper than the local places that I have seen them at Thats good to hear that their a little anal about shipping them as well.

The last comics I bought off eBay were a complete run of "Hitman", and they came shipped in a shoebox with newspaper as packing material.
But like I said, I don't really care about the condition of my comics as long as they're readable.

I totally just bought that set. It's yours for $200. I'll even ship it free. Kidding. Hope he'll send it up there.

This made me laugh from that listing:
"A great comics run from 1995 to 2003, a prime time in DC Comics history."
What happened in DC comics history in that time, besides an overproduction of crappy comics?

The Batman tv show was in that time period and is the only thing DC did that really kicked ass then

I'm with OKC on that one. See also - Transmetropolitan (1997 - 2002)
And no, never had a problem buying or selling comics on eBay.

I actually just finished re-reading Transmet. It's a damn masterpiece, aside from one massive plot hole/continuity error near the end.

I have to go back and re-read. It's been a looong time since I read Transmet. But at the time it was THE book.

I was more into Preacher at the time, but Transmet was always a close second. Those two books are completely different but still compliment each other really well somehow.
And that plothole I noticed was towards the end of the series, when Spider is finishing up his case against the Smiler, and Mary (the Revival woman he gave a camera to earlier in the series) shows him a photo she took of a damning piece of evidence. The problem is that Spider didn't give her the camera until AFTER the event she photographed had already happened...

If you're ever looking for comics online and are scared of ebay sellers, try comiccollectorlive.com. I buy 90% of my comics from there. Its bunch of comic stores and other sellers on there. I have a subscription through one of sellers and I get free shipping, free bags and boards & 25% of comics. There are a ton of cheap comics and most of the people on there will bend over backwards for you.

Heard from the seller and he doesn't ship to Canada atm but is working on it in the future, guess he has a store or something. Might look into something called Ship Happens, business in Bellingham Washington that you can use as a shipping addy in these cases. Dude was really good about it too, which might have earned him future business.
as for 90's comic wasn't into comics at all so hard for me to say really,
looks like i'll have to check out Transmetropolitan and still need to hit up Preacher

I noticed that, but assumed he had traveled back in time somehow because that would totally make sense with all the other shit in that book. I want a Bowel Disruptor so bad. Or if you want to get really specific, the camera Mary shows Spider with the photos on it looks like a different model than the one he gave her earlier, as if maybe since she was a photographer in the 20th century one of the first things she did when she woke up in the future was buy a camera, and then she's just too polite to tell Spider she already has one. At least that's the way I explained it in my head. And I also want a bowel disruptor too as well.

What happened in DC comics history in that time, besides an overproduction of crappy comics? DC did put out some good stuff then, but most of it was Vertigo stuff. There were a few really good mainstream DC titles like The Spectre, but it was overlooked.

I agree that there were great comics put out by publishers in the 90s. I was just generalizing that alot of over-produced shit was put out then and it really hurt the comic book industry.
