Ten years ago, when James Cameron announced that he would be returning to making movies with an original story called Avatar, which he likened to Pocahontas with aliens and a live action adaptation of Battle Angel Alita with the most intense action ever put on film, I was way more excited about Alita. Well, then he made Avatar and it took over his brain and he decided to make 5 sequels or something, so the reins of Alita were given to Robert Rodriguez. I used to love RR, but his last few movies made me lose interest in him, so I my excitement for Battle Angel pretty much died. But I have to admit, despite the anime eyes (which I honestly think I'll get used to while watching the movie), it looks pretty fucking badass. I guess having Cameron as producer helps.

Honestly, the eyes aren't bugging me that much. I just don't get why the other Androids don't have them too. I'm sure that will be explained though.

she looks so out of place with the rest of the characters Exactly what I thought. Anime eyes are even weirder when the other characters all have normal sized eyes. Still looks better than Ready Player One, though. What the hell Spielberg?

Yeah, it's weird that she's the only one with the anime eyes. It probably is because, in the manga, she had the biggest eyes and maybe it's supposed to represent her innocence in contrast to the other characters.

it's not really just the eyes
the fact that she's all CGI stands out like a sore thumb
maybe by release they'll have the effects fine tuned enough that she blends in better

This might be one time when the uncanny valley effect actually benefits the movie. If the character is supposed to be a cyborg in a world full of humans, it makes sense for there to be something a little off in how she looks.
