Watched the second ep tonight.
After last season, I was guaranteed to watch this no matter what, but I'm totally drawn in by the new story and characters. I love that it's still all connected, both seasons and the movie, but only loosely, and each is a self-contained entity.
Great cast once again, and I'm eagerly awaiting each player's moment to shine. Even Fat Todd from Breaking Bad. He's already jumped down in the muck, and for love that is not at all reciprocated. He'll produce some major whatthefuckery eventually I'm sure.
Already want to bake some fucking bread and talk business.

Loved the first season, loving the second so far. Every time I watch the show I can't help but talk like that the rest of the night. Drives my wife nuts.

I do the same thing. At this point I'd have to say it's shaping up to be a more entertaining story than the first. So many good characters. Where's Knocks? He needs to get in on the 70s love for this show.

Last episode was just nuts. Just caught up to Season 1 for likability.

Ash vs Evil Dead is the one myself and Mrs. Knockworstface are currently following. We love that show. We love Bruce Campbell.

Ash vs Evil Dead as been enjoyable. I was happy to see Lucy Lawless make a cameo in the diner. Guess they're still buddies from the old Xena days. Fargo is a great show, Knocks. If you've seen the movie, the first season takes place a little after and is connected in a few small ways, but is its own independent story. This season involves a younger version of Keith Carradine's character from the first season, and takes place in 1979. By the way, Bruce Campbell plays a small part as Ronald Reagan on the campaign trail to defeat Carter, and has a stop in their small town to drum up votes. Fat Down Syndrome Matt Damon and Kirstin Dunst have a killer sunken living room with orange shag carpeting.

I love that this season they are using versions of a lot of songs that have been played across all of the Coen movies, and there are a ton of visual tributes as well. Fuckin' rad. Best show on TV right now. Nothing even comes close.

Last episode was pretty whacko with gunfight interruption. That was really the only thing I haven't liked about the entire season. The rest of the episode was a roller coaster.

It has been a jarring interruption, but I'm curious to see how it works out since the rest of the season has been amazing. But that was some pretty messed up shit at the hotel. And, even though we all knew it was coming, it sucked rotten eggs about Betsy.

Still have to watch the finale. Survivor finale is on tonight so I might not have a chance until tomorrow.

Very glad Betsy gets to die off-screen at some future point. That wouldn't have had any meaning in the story at this point.
It was gratifying to learn what was actually going on in Danson's den.
Bokeem Woodbine was a major highlight in the season. His performance had such measured nuance, such absolute control of his character. But his "Mike", I'm kind of glad he got the Vic Mackey treatment in the end. It was heading into the 80s where organized crime and business were basically the same thing. So, him being relegated to a grey office to become an anonymous part of the machine was fitting.
The rest wrapped up well. Poor, fat, downs syndrome Matt Damon could only have ended up dead in a meat cooler. He was always just a pawn. And his psycho wife will be living the movie fantasy version of the interesting life she always dreamed.
The thing that sucks ass is that the show runner has said that by the time things get rolling for series 3, the winter will be over. And since this is a winter show, it has to wait to be shot until the end of next year. And, again, since it's a winter show, it won't air until winter of 2017. Dammit.

Caught what I think was the season finale a few nights ago with a friend while we were both stoned and it blew our minds how crazy it was compared to our expectations. Never saw any other episodes. Saw the movie.

The first season was set in the current year it aired. It was its own self-contained story, but had a few direct and fun connections to the story from the movie.
This second season takes place in 1979, and is also connected to the characters in the first season. Patrick Wilson plays the same character David Carradine played in the first season.
All you guys would probably enjoy this show a lot. It's great because they get 10 episodes to work out a great story with closure, not having to worry about dragging shit out across multiple seasons.

Ah, then you watched the penultimate episode. It's never explained, and has only 1 earlier showing, but just adds a weird twist to the whole thing that makes it enjoyable. It kind of fits, and makes absolutely no sense at all.

I thought the last episode was a big letdown. I thought it really dragged and was a bit of a slap in the face versus the rest of the season.

The UFO is a reference to an incident involving a police officer, Val Johnson, in Minnesota in late 1979. He saw a bright light coming down from the sky, then over his patrol car. He was passed out for about 30 minutes and his watch and car clock had stopped for 14 minutes. His eyes were burned with what doctors call "welders' burn".

Adds a nice bit of weight to it, takes away some of the what-the-fuckery of it.

Now, how do you explain the random freeze frames when certain characters are firing their guns?
