The place has been on life support for a long time, just the handful of us hanging on. But I'm not seeing much activity most anywhere I go. Which is weird because during winter people tend to be inside more and are online more often.

It was definitely a slow weekend. I think there are just so few of us that if a couple are busy for a day or two the whole place seems dead.

It's a friggin' miserable time.

As far as buying figures, money's been tight and what little I have keeps going to impulse buys. I still have a deal I need to complete with okcomputer. Hopefully, I can check out what you have again in the coming months crazypred.

Don't knock bulldung.
You wanna talk about toys? Fine. NECA's ED-209 is really fragile and not worth $60. Still cool though.

They've been having serious QC issues lately. ED209 broke (easy to fix though) and the new '79 Alien snapped in half at the torso within minutes (couldn't fix that one, replacement on the way from BBTS). NECA has always had their breakage problems, but recently it's been ridiculous.
Word of advice though about the Alien: if you ordered it online and it's really cold out when the package arrives, wait for it to warm up a little before opening the figure. I went home for lunch last week to get the Aliens series 2 box off the porch, and while I was home I opened up the '79 Alien. It was cold as hell outside, and the plastic must have been brittle because the torso joint broke as soon as I tried to move it. I kept Windrix and the '86 Alien in the packages until I got home later that night, and no problems at all with either of those. So if you live in the frozen hellscape of the US midwest, maybe wait a while for the figures to reach room temp.
Sgt. Windrix is an awesome figure btw. It's a cool tribute to a NECA staffer's seriously ill brother, and even though he's not from the movie he fits in perfectly with Hicks and Hudson.

That's why I put my Ezio back in the package and on the wall. So damn fragile, both his wrist blades snapped off with the the lightest touch. The Predator & Arnie seem okay, but the plastic does feel pretty delicate.

With whats going on with my life, I've knocked off buying figures all together. Traded in some stuff I had packed up for the two new Preds but outside of that, I have no desire to buy anything.

We should start more of these "It's all dead and shit up in here" threads. They provoke a great defensive reaction from us all. Fucking post, all you dickbags. Deer farts are goddamn funny. I know you're all watching movies and TV shows and playing games. I know you still buy toys. I know you eat and drink things. Comics are read. Books are read. Also, Quentin Tarantino is a fucking lisping, foot-fetishist baby.

QT's sincere, he keeps it real. It's not like he's quitting movies, he's just doing something else because his whole reason for creating is sharing the stuff he finds most awesome with the world. He's not a baby but he does have a pure child-like excitement for what he does that few people do. Having the cat out of the bag throws a wrench in his whole process, so good on him for explaining how damaging it is and maybe putting a stop to this kind of thing in the future. But I still wish Ingloriourious Basterds was cooler.

Inglorious Basterds is fucking great! To wit: Eli Roth shoots Hitler in the face with a machine gun in that movie. How could it possibly be cooler?!

If there was more of that stuff, enough to make "The Dirty Dozen" obsolete. Kill Bill was a celebration of its genre that outdid its inspirations, IB was just an alright entry in its.

The only people who'd bother to look at the script are the same few who'd want it leaked in the first place because they want to read it for some dumb reason. It's not like anything's been ruined for the vast majority of potential viewers, because none of us give a crap what's in it until it's on-screen. He's a poopy baby and I wanted to see a western.
