That's kind of weird. The fanboy creep factor over Harley stuns me sometimes. I don't read Batman, though, so I don't know shit about her.

I'm convinced Palmiotti just has some kind of weird suicide fetish that he's not doing such a good job of hiding and this is his way of getting material for his spank bank...and then they'll put the art that makes him cum hardest in a comic book.

Harley Quinn is awesome. I just can't stand this hyper-sexualized version DC keeps trying to foist on people, and this stupid "draw Harley killing herself while naked" contest is wrong on a bajillion different levels. Harley is supposed to be cute, funny, and insane, with just a little bit of PG-13 sexiness thrown in. THIS: Definitely not this:

I wonder how many times Jimmy Palmiotti beat off during news coverage of Castro's suicide. Too bad for Jimmy he's not some hot babe.

Paul Dini's gotta be shitting a brick over what's become of Harley. No wonder he jumped ship to Marvel's shitty animation department. I remember reading that he made them add the scene of Nana Harley at the end of Return of the Joker because he wouldn't kill her off.

Most people are naked in bathtubs. That's not the weird and messed up part, Thrall, the suicide thing is. Maybe you don't think so? If not, okay. That's your right.

True, they're asking for four imminent suicides on one page. Big difference.
It's just a little bit skeevy.

"Draw Harley Quinn grinding a boa constrictor in a bikini with a shotgun in her mouth, crying."
Yeah, that sounds totally normal...

I love Harley,I dont completely enjoy the over-sexualized versions of her, but i dont completely hate them either. I really like the more adult (Not too ADULT) versions of Dini's original, sexuality has always been at the core of her, they just couldnt put too much into the show.... the Mad Love story is kind of about how much sexuality they can put into it before DC says stop. its all in the foreword and afterword of "Mad Love and Other Stories"

"Mad Love" is classic. The trade that collects all the Dini/Timm comics is just ridiculously awesome. There's one scene with Harley in some skimpy lingerie, but it's innocent enough.
And as much as I love the Arkham games, those were the beginning of Harley's decline. That was the first time they drastically redesigned her costume and look, and it was all downhill after that.

I never had a problem with the arkham Harley outfits, the nurse one was appropriate for the setting and so were the one's in CIty and Revenge.would still love to see one more along the line of TAS in Arkham, maybe we'll get it in Origins.

That is pretty weird. It wasn't so bad until I saw the final panel. Weird.
Anyway, I'm with frin. Never understood the attraction to jester/clown themed characters. This probably belongs in the blasphemy thread, but I feel the same way about all non-Ledger versions of The Joker. Meh.

I find all clowns lame outside of the DC Universe. Hamill made Joker work as a character for me.

Lay off the coke. I said "made". The way Hamill brought him to life and balanced the sinister with the silly made the character click for me and seem well-rounded and intimidating. He's worked for me ever since. Keep in mind I'm also like 55 years younger than you so that was when I was like 8. I was just defending that I liked the character outside of Ledger.

You're negative twenty-two years old? Cool. And take it easy, Dude. I'm just busting your balls. Even if you didn't like the Joker, it's cool, we're all individuals here. People are entitled to not like the Joker, even if they're wrong. And for the record, after 1992, I could not read a Batman comic with the Joker without hearing Mark Hamill in my head. Still can't.
