^ I'm hearing good things about the show. I might have to check it out also. I kinda gave up on CW shit but it is sounding like they got this one right.
TV show figures are not as rare as you might think at first. We got Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones (kinda)...

Shit, I guess they are making a comeback lol. But after LOST it was like nothing for a while. Dexter's another one that got (terrible) action figures and I just remembered seeing Duck Dynasty figures too. Maybe that's why I repressed any knowledge of TV figures post-LOST.

I feel good about myself when something becomes totally fucking bat shit huge with the idiot masses before I even catch wind that it exists. I saw a bunch of Duck Dynasty shit at Wal-Mart the other day and I had to ask my mom that I was there with what the fuck it even was.

That TV Oliver Queen figure is awful.

Walter White doesn't move or have shins, Daryl Dixon needs a helmet, and Dexter looks like a Scooby Gang reject. As tv figures go, I think the Arrow ones are alright.

I fucking hate Mcfarlane's Walking Dead figures. The scale sucks ass and fucking destroyed some decent sculpts. The articulation is pointless and ugly. I wish the comics were a Darkhorse title so Todd couldn't bully everyone into letting his shit ass company do the figures. Neca would have knocked them out of the park.

I'm just starting to get into it and it seems like it could be fun.
But the tone is awful, it's so straightforward and plain, no flare, charm, or style. It's most reminiscent of the Witchblade show, but at least that compensated for its blandness with the late 90's staples: slow-mo, blurred shots, hip-hop cuts, and gobs of electronica.
The performances can be very soap opera-esque and the scenes without Oliver Queen make me want to leave the room, drive 50 miles, and scream into the trees.
But the action's pretty darn cool and the character of Arrow and his quest are compelling. The lead actor seems iffy at first but he's alright. His flashbacks are especially cool as they show him learning different survival tactics. He and the guest villains have made it worth a watch so far. Most shows would tone the villains' costumes down until they're hardly recognisable but here they seem to keep the over the top elements in there; it's a bit cheesy but I think I like it overall.
Tonally, I guess it's going for gritty and that could be fine, but it needs some quirkiness here and there, some Whedon style humor, or at least a bit of Smallville's charm to spice things up. But I'm only a few episodes in.

^Interesting. The writing picked up around episode 6, now I'm liking it quite a bit! EDIT: Helena kicks ass, this show's fun! And better shots of the figures. Deathstroke looks slimmer than on the show but still badass, he does have the Origins version to compete with though. Arrow's torso articulation looks awkward but DCC is so stingy with articulation usually that it's good to see them try, and in the right pose it probably won't be noticeable. Other than that I think it looks fine but the eyes are a big factor we haven't had a good look at yet.

THIS SHOW IS SERIOUSLY AWESOME!
Just finished season 1 and I'm blown away. I didn't think a whole lot of the first few episodes but around 6-7 it hit its stride and got progressively more badass until the epic finale. It's hard to compare to other shows but by the end the gritty tone ended up working out really well and the writing gradually became more natural and sprinkled with humor. The lead actor seems shaky at first but he's a great fit for the role and I like that it's not just a lone wolf thing, he and Diggle make a fun team reminiscent of Burn Notice. Slade is soooo kickass, I loved the island stuff. Man, just a fun badass show and the characters really grow on you. It seems like the first show to successfully bring what superhero movies have accomplished lately to the small screen. I'm sure the Shield show will do the same with a bigger budget, but I'm extremely impressed that a CW show about a character I've never been into was able to do it first.

I'm about halfway into the first season and some of the same shit that was getting under my skin about Smallville is driving me nuts with this show. The fucking corny and almost weekly "character in the hospital visitation scenes"

^ A little bit. I thought the Huntress on Birds of Prey was better though.

^Does seem better. I like the new one but she can look awkward at some angles and I wish they made the purple on her costume more pronounced so she didn't just look like the matrix.
Is that Birds Of Prey show worth watching?

^ Not really. I'd put it on about the level of Batman Forever. It is an interesting curiosity but it should have been better. Seems like they are kinda following the same formula with Arrow but learned from the mistakes made on Birds of Prey.
I did love Ian Ambercrombie as Alfred though.

Something else that is driving me fucking nuts is that Queen won't put a damn ski-mask or ninja hanky over his damn face when he is meeting up with people that could recognize him.

Lex maybe but Bruce doesn't deal in the shady kind of shit the people on the list seem to do.

Wayne Enterprise has had it's hands in all sorts of shady shit over the years though. It would all end up being a misunderstanding and Batman would talk some sense into Queen and then invite him to join the JLA.

Well I guess you've got a point there. I seriously doubt he'll show up though even though the show is pretty much Batarrowman anyway.

I really liked Lincoln on Fringe, it sucks that he's so awful as The Count on this show.

Hate to nitpick but this guy seriously needs an Arrowmobile or something. How is he constantly getting across town so fast?

I've had that since I first got the game. Nice to see it's free for folks to get though. The MoS Zod skin is sick.
