^Great exerpt, makes me want to play through the game again cuz I didn't remember that Bill character at all until I looked him up. I've gotta stop lending games to friends but oh well, still have to finish the second one.

The Pine Deep trilogy by Jonathan Maberry (Ghost Road Blues, Dead Man's Song, and Bad Moon Rising) is superb. 10/10
Best horror novels I've ever read. The new Dracula.

Probably a longshot, but has anyone read 'Predator: South China Sea'? Sounds good from the amazon reviews, just wanted to doublecheck.

"How To Fuck" by author unknown. I found this at a garage sale. It's practically printed on notebook paper with a brown paper cover and I think it was published in the 70's for retards because there's a caption under one picture that reads, "Penis goes in the hole as shown." It's literally a how-to manual written in the style of a military manual on fucking. The illustrations are hilarious, because the guy looks like the most stereotypical rapist ever and the chick looks utterly horrified to be present. I've tried looking this up, but I think it might have been down by the guy having the garage sale. There's a passing resemblance to the rapist. My favorite part is the final chapter which goes into great detail about how the female orgasm is a total myth and how the woman will simply be grateful to 'receive semen'. Best how-to book ever written IMO. 10/10 Would you mind taking a few pictures of this rare gem for all of us to see?

Just started 'Bioshock: Rapture' earlier this week, it's incredibly good so far. Beautifully & cleverly written, first impression is that it does the games justice and will be a great prequel.

I guess I'll throw in on this, I've been reading a lot of the cheap pulpy zombie books on Kindle.
The Dishonored Dead - Robert Swartwood - Really a pretty cool take on the genre that basically flips it on it's head. I enjoyed it quite a bit.
White Flag of the Dead (books 1-3) - Joseph Talluto - Mixed feelings on these. The first book was REALLY strong. A regular dude, semi-prepared. Shit hits the fan and he's got a baby son. Really liked it and it seemed very "real". Then the second book things kind of change, the main character kind of morphs into captain badass but, it's still pretty believeable. Third book, some of the characters are getting a little out there, and there's some stereotypical stuff happening that kind of made me groan. Not bad, but there is one major plot point developing (a 4th book is coming) that is pretty silly. Worth reading, but partly because they're pretty cheap on the Kindle.
Undead Nation - Brent Acuff - Take the book mentioned above and then have the retarded bagboy at your local grocery store write it. It's not totally stupid and it's functional and hey, at least there's effort there, right? But that's about it. Cookie cutter characters have stilted or overwrought interactions and main plot points happen "off-screen" and are then awkwardly explained later. It was a dollar, not angry, just disappointed.
Dead Living - Glenn Bullion - Now this was an interesting book. The opening was pretty weak, but the concept was good. Another "twist" in there that makes it interesting. Not anywhere near terrible, worth the buck or two I paid.
Season of the Harvest - Michael R Hicks - My most recent read and not zombies but very, very cool. Conspiracy theory + aliens = good reading. Basically GMO foods are being used by aliens to eventually take over Earth. Cool, cheap.

Patient Zero - 7/10 Jonathan Maberry is my new favorite writer. He wrote, imo, the coolest horror novel of the past ten years with Ghost Road Blues. After finishing that trilogy I decided that I would blindly buy anything after that that he decides to write.
Patient Zero is the first in a new series of books that he's created. It's pretty cool, but not as good as the Pine Deep trilogy, which Ghost Road Blues was the opener for. I'll type more about it tomorrow, when I'm not so lazy. Until then, I'll just say that it caters to my love of supernatural horror and the accurate portrayal of martial arts and combat situations in fiction.

^ I read that one and The Dragon Factory, pretty good books. The third one is out I think, but I haven't gotten to it yet. Joe Ledger is a pretty decent "hero".

Batman: Under The Red Hood.
I'm new to Batman comics and pretty much comics in general so slowly getting stuff bought and found this as a re-release at toy traders, used my credit there to get it and enjoyed it from cover to cover. Now I know I'm jumping in not at the begining so I have to go back and read other comics to get some of the details to it, but I plan on doing that. I honestly was never the biggest Batman fan outside of the 90's cartoon and the Burton movies but the comics I've read so far have been drawing me in.
Any other recommondations that I should try? I also have, The Man Who Laughs and Arkham Asylum: Madness ..

Slights by Kaaren Warren 8/10 - Pretty dark, but very funny a lot of the time. It's narrated by this girl who uses suicide attempts to get attention from the people around her. Every time she almost dies, she's transported to this dark room filled with people in her life who she's slighted, and they torture her while she's there. Halfway through the book she begins to wonder if she's the only person that this happens to, so she starts killing people and using her nurse training to revive them just long enough to ask them if they see the dark room.
It's very nihilistic, but very well written. Her thought processes are pretty funny. Although, I'm not sure if they're supposed to be. It's all very British. Here's my favorite line: "There were three bedrooms, ten people, which meant I had sex with another couple listening. I kind of liked that. I wish you could get hetero bars like those gay bars you hear about. (Though I never met anyone who went to one. Do they exist?Or did someone make it up, a rumour about the lives they lead? I hope it's true. I really do.) If I had a dick, I'd like to go to a bar, have a drink or whatever, then go to a room and just stick it through a hole for someone to suck on.

Batman Beyond is fantastic. But to get a full appreciation you'll want these,
Batman Superman Justice League Justice League Unlimited Batman Beyond
Obviously you've already seen BTAS, but check out the others, they all tie together very well. And the true end to the Batman Beyond series is in JLU.

You should be able to get the DVD's fairly cheap, I know Batman Beyond is like 15 bucks at Walmart. If you want to be even cheaper, I'd suggest googling an episode list, and youtubing them.

The X-Men cartoon is awesome. The 90s one that is. X-Men Evolution is not bad.

I loved the xmen cartoon!
Now with me just getting into comics and such, I've had a bit of an interest in Green Lantern, what would be the best way to get into them?

Start with Rebirth, and then dive into Vol 4, its the most recent run. You can easily find trades of all of them right now. You should get GL Corps too.

really enjoyed this one! apparently it's not in Lee's usual style which (I've heard) is pretty over the top for sex & violence ("Header" anyone?) He's got two more Lovecraftian books that I'll be picking up soon- review

I need new books to read I want something in the horror genre, but I can't pick up a single book without it being full of sex and rape. Talk about dull / cheap shock value. If that book is free of such things, maybe I'll try to find it.

I'm a huge fan of horror and I recently read this trilogy and they quickly became some of my favorite books of all time: I highly recommend them to everyone! No cheap shock value. All deep characterization, psychological horror, classic supernatural creatures shown in fresh new ways, and awesome action!

Pushed through all 3 Hunger Games books in 3 days (they're not that long) and really enjoyed them. I wanted to get in before they made them the new twilight and pissed me off.
