Kiss: Psycho Circus (DC) - I probably never would've tried this game, but since I've found out how to burn Dreamcast games I've pretty much been through em all. I played my music-less burned copy until it froze toward the end of the 1st guy's (you play as each band member's persona) part of the game. I enjoyed it enough to get a copy for 7 bucks on ebay, which arrived yesterday, and I'm still enjoying it (just got to the last fourth of the game Gene Simmons' part, his battle axe is awesome). I knew some stuff had been taken out when they ported the game from PC to Dreamcast, but none of the reviews specified what exactly. Today I realized that in addition to a couple levels and collectible items they actually cut out the BOSS FIGHTS WTF!? Even without the boss fights I still like the game a lot, it's old school FPS fun, like a mix between Quake 2 & Serious Sam. The graphics are good, the weapons are badass, it's got a cool soundtrack, nice level variety, and it's not frustrating. It's just pure fun exploring levels and blasting through waves of enemies. I've been known to like shitty games, but I don't get why everyone hates this one so much. I'm pretty sure it's the only non-arena deathmatch FPS on Dreamcast other than Soldier Of Fortune and the 2 Rainbow Six games and I find it way more fun than those. My Dad likes showtunes so I never got to know Kiss' music growing up, and I pretty much wrote everything 'Kiss' off as lame old people stuff, even though I always thought the McFarlane figures looked pretty cool. A week ago (while waiting to get a real copy of the game) I read through the first 6 issues of the comic it's based on and I got into it. It's pretty much a Twilight Zone anthology type of thing where the Kiss guys are these elemental beings who inhabit regular people's bodies and help them with hardships to balance the universe. It's pretty neat and it's cool to see the game bring that world to life. I downloaded those and now I wanna get a real copy of them as well. And the action figures. The albums? I don't think I'm quite there yet. ;D I will admit, there's something entertaining about finding juke boxes in the midst of battle and hitting the action button to switch from game's standard electronica soundtrack to a classic Kiss song.

Bad Company 2 with the girlfriend all the freakin time. I'm tellin you - it's getting ridiculous how much time I spend on that game. Then again, this town has nothing exciting to offer so I guess it doesn't really matter. Either waste time on BC2 or waste time doing nothing in town.

Colonel Clinkenbeard's remarks on 'The Warriors' reminded me that's one of the few games I still have for my old XBox. That was fun. I should play that again.

Colonel Clinkenbeard's remarks on 'The Warriors' reminded me that's one of the few games I still have for my old XBox. That was fun. I should play that again. That's been on my list of games to buy forever. One of these days... I got Quake 2 (PS1), Armorines (PS1), Mission: Impossible (PS1), & Trickstyle (DC) in the mail today. Can you tell I got in nostalgic about some N64 games, then remembered some of 'em were multi-platform & I could play em on my PS3? Armorines looks horrible compared to the N64 version, the lack of lighting effects really effs up the gameplay in some of the darker areas, but after a couple levels I've been able to enjoy the game again and I'm liking it. It's like Starship Troopers mixed with a really simplified version of Turok. I've been a Quake fan since Quake 3 came out, this is my first time playing the second one and I'm loving it about as much as I could've hoped. It's one of the best looking games I've played on PS1, so still pretty damn ugly. I know I should play the PC version but I can't get into PC gaming, and prefer to play stuff on my TV. I just faced my first "Tank" and he's almost as badass as his action figure!! ;D

I was gonna put a reference to said game in the review...asking how it was. It was definitely a perfect story for a game to follow...action packed...full of battles where you get to 'waste' mofos. I assume it's worth buying then?

RECENT HAULZ! Motor Mayhem (PS2) is a game I'd never heard of until the other day when I was searching through random PS2 footage on youtube. Obviously it's a vehicular combat game, and it's really awesome. It's only flaw is that it was released a couple weeks after Twisted Metal: Black, so it was instantly forgotten. It's pretty badass though, setup more like an Unreal Tournament game with smaller arenas packed with vehicles, rather than the pretty large outdoor maps of Twisted Metal & Vigilante 8. The game has this cartoony sci-fi style, so it's big & badass but not all dark & sinister like Twisted Metal: Black. There's a fun atmosphere and one of the main focuses of the game seems to have been to make the drivers as visible as the vehicles themselves, so they're sticking out of the cars at all times and are fully animated to react to what's going on. It's a feature I think a lot of vehicular combat game are missing, it adds a lot of personality and it's really nice to not just be looking at a car. My favorite character is this hardened military dude who drives a hovercraft(!), but there are also all kinds of cool looking alien creatures, with very original and unique cars/trucks/bikes. I'm familiar with most games on PS2, and this has to be one of the most under-appreciated games on the system. While it is missing the story elements that made the Twisted Metal series so memorable, in many ways I'm finding it more fun than the game that sealed it's fate so many years ago. Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (PS3) is a freakin fun fast-paced objective-based online FPS. I was glad to see there are still a decent amount of people online (like 11 rooms last night). The coolest thing for me is, even though I've been a huge fan of Quake 3 since it came out, I only just started playing Quake 2 for the first time (loving it), and a bunch of the Quake 2 weapons (I love the hyperblaster) are in Quake Wars if you play as the Strogg (humans get crappy assault rifles). This game got poor reviews on PS3/360 and seems to be generally disliked, but I'm having a blast with it. And it was only like $12. Can't wait for these guys' next game, Brink, which looks to take this style of game to a whole new level.

Dreamcast was the first console I played religiously. I still have it. Every now and then I like to dust it off and pop in Spawn: in the Demon's Hand. That game was bad ass! I couldn't stop playing it. The only thing I thought was super lame about it was the boss battle with Malebolgia. That was the biggest let-down in gaming history. Fuck that level!

^I play my Dreamcast all the time, especially since you can burn every DC game ever made onto a blank cd and play it with no modding.

Started doing some Reach. It's pretty meh, exactly what you'd expect from a Halo game. Firefight is fun given the right conditions.

Been playing Chronicles Of Riddick on PS3, finally beat Butcher Bay yesterday morning & beat Dark Athena just now. It's become my 4th favorite PS3 game. Riddick is such an awesome character and I love how they bring the fantasy world to life. It's cool & funny, and the characters are fully developed & fit right in with the universe already established in the movies. The gunplay is kinda clunky (it did feel somewhat tighter in Dark Athena) but I can live with it because there's so much more to the game than that.

I stumbled upon my old Kiwi colored GameBoy Color and fired up Super Mario Bros. DX. Man, what a sick ass game. It's the old school Super Mario Bros. plus a ton of other challenges, races, and tools (fortune telling, calender). For each level in the "challenge" you have to find 5 red coins, beat the predetermined high score, and find a Yoshi egg. It's insanely fun.

Still nothing on the PS3. Been a long time since I've played. Got about an hour into Brutal Legend and haven't gone back. About all I'm playing is Ninjump and Angry Birds. LOL

Been playing a little "Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time" this weekend. Really a lot of fun. First one in the series I ever played was the one before this, the first part of the story, and just had a ball with it. Beautifully created worlds, lots of things to do and it never felt repetitive. This one is even better. I still have trouble controlling myself with the stupid hover boots. ;D

Just beat Bioshock 2 , I've had it on the shelf forever, but only recently picked it up and went through the campaign. Not bad, sort of an afterthought to the first one, and almost entirely too linear and short, I hope the next one (in the sky city) takes more chances.
