Ok, all this talk about the X-men cartoon reminds me that I have a doozy for you guys. I don't like Batman the Animated Series. I really don't like the flat, angular character design so much that I can't get into the stories. It's so visually uninteresting to me. Huh. To be honest, I much prefer Batman Beyond, Justice League, and JLU, but I guess that's just an evolution of same art style, so...yeah. Huh. Wait, so you're okay with overly round animation like Rick & Morty and Steven Universe?

Batman Beyond is the best part of the DCAU. Yeah I said it. JL/JLU is #2 though.

Wait, so you're okay with overly round animation like Rick & Morty and Steven Universe? I'm good with Batman: Beyond, actually. I can't say why. But the other DC Animation, no, I don't like the look of it. I prefer overly-round to overly-angular. But here's something weird: I like Samurai Jack and the Genndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars. It's probably because I love the choreography and dynamic movement. I would still prefer the art style to be less angular and flat.

It's Batman meets freaking Blade Runner. Who the hell wouldn't like that? And it's also the reason why I love the Marvel 2099 series.
God I wish they'd do movies of this stuff.

I haven't seen the 90s X-Men cartoon since it was first on, and even though I have fond memories of it (that show and Batman TAS sparked my love of comics) I'm not surprised if it doesn't hold up.
BTAS on the other hand absolutely holds up. One of the best animated shows ever made, on par with the golden age of Disney and Looney Tunes.

More (because this shit is cathartic): - David Tennant is only my sixth favorite Doctor Who - I think He-Man is gayer than two Cher impersonators blowing each other on top of Liberace’s mirrored piano while Elton John uses it to perform “Somewhere over the rainbow” in his peacock costume and that sparkly diamond confetti shit falls from the ceiling. - I like the new She-Ra show (it reminds me of a cross between Legend of Korra and the first couple seasons Friendship is Magic). It also pisses off Forty year old incels who care waaaay too much about an '80s cartoon made to sell dollies to little girls - I said it before and I'll say it again, DEEP SPACE NINE IS BETTER THAN THE NEXT GENERATION!!! - Street Fighter suuuucks - All of Greg Berlanti’s DC shows are shit and they always were. - The only actresses Hot Toys sculpts well are Carrie Fisher and Margot Robbie - Margot Robbie was a TERRIBLE Harley Quinn (I am willing to put at least 50% of the blame on David Ayer)

I got Street Fighter V for Christmas and after playing it for a couple of hours I uninstalled it. Pretty boring game.

Because today is the twentieth anniversary of the premiere, I would like to share an opinion that while not unpopular, is a bit less popular than it used to be: Anyone who says that Star Wars Episode 1 isn't a bad movie is lying, either to everyone else or to themselves. They may like it, which is perfectly fine, but it is an objectively bad movie.
One more, but while it's not a 20th anniversary type thing, it is certainly an unpopular opinion: I much prefer John Doggett to Fox Mulder.

Duel of the Fates and the Maul fight at the end are pretty much all Phantom Menace has going for it.

Duel of the Fates and the Maul fight at the end are pretty much all Phantom Menace has going for it. I'll do you one better. I actually don't like that song, and I don't like most of the fight except the part where the laser wall or whatever it is goes between Maul and Obi-Wan, and Obi-Wan sits down and meditates to wait for it to go back up while Maul paces back and forth like a tiger. Only good part of the whole fucking movie.

The Phantom Menace's 20th anniversary was yesterday which means today is the 20th anniversary of people bitching about The Phantom Menace.

On a related note, I joined eBay in April of 99 just to buy the new Ep1 figures. Ugh. Fuck that shit. But I got an awesome wife out of it, so that's pretty fucking sweet.

I don't suspect it'll piss anyone off, certainly not any nerds, and maybe it's not anything new to people, but I've finally admitted to myself that Harvey Keitel is not a good actor.

You're kinda pissing me off. He's not at the top of his game anymore, that's for sure, but I still think Harvey's great, and I still think he's better than some of the pricks that have won the Best Actor Oscar in the last few years like Casey Affleck and Matthew McCaughneghey.

- Margot Robbie was a TERRIBLE Harley Quinn (I am willing to put at least 50% of the blame on David Ayer) After watching that horrible fucking Birds of Prey movie, David Ayer no longer gets 50% of the blame, and I really hope James Gunn can make Margot a good Harley.
