I liked David Bowie, but I was never into David Bowie, a crime to say, I'm sure. That didn't effect me too much. No matter the project, Alan Rickman was always stellar. He was one of my very favorite actors, and I'm fucking crushed. Alan Rickman dead at 69 Shit, I hope Harvey Keitel hangs around a while longer.

RIP sir. You were awesome, loved, and will be dearly missed. I think I'm going to shoot some glass.

"Shiess dem Fenster" is pretty poor German (maybe that's why Karl is confused and Hans has to tell him in English) and actually means "Shoot them the windows."

Losing Rickman and Bowie in the same week feels like my soul got kicked in the balls. But there must be a pretty kickass party up in heaven today.
Mr. Rickman, by Grabthar's hammer you shall be avenged.

Damn shame. I pretty much feel exactly the same way that s. Griffin put it in his first post.

Not really a crime per se, but you should at least listen to the "Berlin Trilogy" of albums (Low, Heroes, and Lodger) and see if those give you some more appreciation and a sense of why so many people were devastated this week. But back to Rickman, yesterday I realized I haven't seen Robin Hood Prince of Thieves since I was 12. I should fix that this weekend, to appreciate Rickman and laugh at Costner's terrible English accent.

Hey,dick. I've heard plenty of Bowie songs, like (just don't love) quite a few, and I appreciate the contribution he made to music itself. I just wasn't into David Bowie, as I said. Not everybody has to be a fan, and if somebody isn't, that doesn't mean they're some how belittling those who were. You make it sound like that. Just because I wasn't crushed when Bowie died doesn't mean I don't understand why other people might be. I'm sure there are plenty of people who aren't as broken up about Alan Rickman's death as I am, but I'm not going to condescend to them, just because they weren't moved by the man's art the way I had been.
Also, watch the Prince of Thieves Director's cut or Special Edition or whatever it's called. Pretty much all the extra stuff centers around Rickman's Sheriff...and the witch.

Holy shit man, I didn't mean to condescend. The way you feel about Bowie is the way I feel about Bob Dylan. I understand the appeal and recognize his talent, but I'm just not a big fan. Nothing wrong with that at all. I was just recommending some great albums, that's all.
And all I really remember about Prince of Thieves is the stuff they parodied in Men in Tights, like Kevin Costner and Christian Slater doing bad accents, the fight in the river, and the witch. I do remember Robin Hood shooting an executioner in the face with a flaming arrow though, 12-year-old me thought that part was awesome.

It's pretty obvious why it was all cut though. The scenes basically turn the Sheriff into a cartoon villain.
