It was more fluid and had more ways to create your own combo in an intuitive way. I really liked that you could just freestyle and try to come up with the longest combo possible. It was more akin to Devil May Cry than MK. For a hack n slash game it wasn't that deep, but I found it more fun and intuitive than the core series. I als liked the leveling system even though it was pretty simple.

Tekken 6's adventure mode was great, even though it was a simple beat 'em up. You could play as any character and there was tons of loot to keep you coming back.

I don't think they're bad. I loved that you can come across parts of stages that are old stages from previous games, like the one from part 2 with the floating monks standing on each side of a huge circular window with clouds moving super fast past it. It had a lot of nostalgia worked in. Part of why I liked it so much.

Does Tekken Tag 2 have anything like that? After platinuming 6 in like a solid week of play I was so burnt out on Tekken, but I think now enough time has passed. Nothing gets me obsessed with a game like gobs of unlockable character customization, and that adventure mode was one of the most fun ways of earning it I've experienced.

Then eff that! Do you know about Soul Calibur V's adventure mode? They're always good, but getting kinda samey.

I don't remember too much about part V. I sold it pretty quickly to afford GTA V because I enjoyed Sould Calibur IV better. V had awesome customization, but I hate how they change the movesets of every character so drastically with each game.

Saw Shaolin Monks at a Game Exchange today for $10 but I'd really like to wait and see if they re-release it on PSN before I buy it on PS2. Old fella doesn't see a lot of usage anymore. I'm honestly surprised the damn thing still works.

Me too. The new characters grew on me a lot just from that small amount of new footage. The story that spans 25 years is super intriguing. Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade's daughter as a playable character is funny and awesome.
The 3 versions of each character aren't what I expected, I thought it would be different looking versions of them from different timelines or dimensions with different abilities, but it's just different styles of moves that you choose before a match, not sure how valuable a feature that is when in the PS2 games you could swap between styles mid-fight at the press of a button.
I also am less optimistic we'll see b-tier favorite characters now, but we'll see. Anyway, the levels look awesome, in one you can throw an old lady who's chilling in the background lol, can't wait to learn more.

Well of course she's their kid. They were the only two left alive at the end of MK9.

Yeah, it's just funny because in MK9 Cage was always hitting on Sonya and she wasn't remotely into it. And now we find their friendship has resulted in a babality.

I heard the fighting style variations do cause a slight change in character appearance. For instance, the bug chick, D'vorah, has her hood up with one style, hood down with another, and has poison stuff oozing from her arms with the third. I like that.

Enjoy Raz
In older news I picked up MK Deadly Alliance, Deception, Armageddon, and Shaolin Monks at Game Exchange a couple of weeks ago.

Yay vs. Kano! I think Quan Chi's the first character where I can say that's probably his best costume yet.

That demon horse was pretty neat. If he has some moves that involve that, that would be neat.
