Frinspar's thumb post got me thinking about toys that I wish would have survived my childhood. These two are easily at the top of my list. megomuseum.com/heroes/comicaction/fortressofsolitude.htmlOne of my brothers friends handed these two Mego sets down to me and they took quite a beating. They were perfect for the Super Powers figures. There really isn't anything like these for kids these days. These would have been great to pass down to my kids. megomuseum.com/wgsh/playsets/batcave.htmlWhile its not something I ever owned. The Batman Forever Batcave was pretty awesome too. Just for comparison this is today's Batcave What about you guys?

That Superman set is really great. Never seen it before. I'm intrigued by the Comic Action Activator. Looks like a spring-loaded or air-propelled thing. LOL Awesome.
Mine are easy, I had a bunch of Mego dolls and I played with them until they were pieces. I wish I had even a few now, in played-with condition, but with all their stuff.
Also, my Six Million Dollar Man.

I had a shitload of the original pre-1985 Kenner Star Wars figures and vehicles. All of them either broke and got thrown out or were lost. It'd be nice to still have most of those and in good condition (MOC would be even better).

The comic action activator is that TNT set. Its air powered and it basically blew the red door of its hinges. I feel ya though. The vast majority of my stuff was busted all to hell. My wife on the other hand took fantastic care of her toys. She still has that 6 Million Dollar man doll, all of her Star Wars figures with most of their weapons, the sears exclusive tatooine play set, and the radio controlled sandcrawler among other Star Wars toys. It blew my mind when I saw all of the stuff she had when we were moving. I need to snap some pictures of them when I get some time. She also had this Barbie dreamhouse. The thing is huge. Its like 3'w x 2'T. My daughter has already busted two or three things on it LOL www.etsy.com/listing/127427752/vintage-barbie-a-frame-dream-house?utm_source=google&utm_medium=product_listing_promoted&utm_campaign=vintage_mid&gclid=CKbtwdX_kbgCFcyf4AodWGsAPQ

Love to see the old SW stuff. I remember that Barbie house, a friend's sister had it and we loved to mes it up to piss her off. LOL
I never had any of the Shogun Warriors and coveted the ones my friends had.

Kenner Batman and Spider-Man TAS. I played with that stuff so much that they just didn't survive the battles.

Mego toys were just the most awesome toys ever back then. The Evel Knevel action figure set with the wind up crank thing to give the bike juice was awesome.

Kramer vs. Kramer is on right now on the retro channel! I think some to these toys can be seen in this hit movie from 1979.

I guess I'm lucky, I still have a lot of mine in a box in the guest room for my nephews to play with; it's pretty cool seeing them enjoy all of it the way I used to. It's lead me to the conclusion that Micro Machines could make a major comeback, that's what they're drawn to the most and there doesn't seem to be anything comparable on the market today. The only thing that really feels like it's missing are my original 3 & 3/4" Joes, but the POC stuff did a good job of filling that nostalgia void.

Dino Riders- we gave them away to another family, but I wished we'd hung on to them. MOTU Night Stalker, and Panthor. Although I seem to have managed to hang on to most things MOTU. I still have Stridor but I'm missing bits and pieces for him. My two castles that eventually lost pieces I will commend the brother on FINALLY finding them... we looked for over an hour to figure out what they were: We also miss our wooden train set, which was also given away. Spent HOURS playing with that thing. We had so many pieces of track they could go all over the basement...

There was also this bad boy, which the bro and I spent countless hours playing with. Pool, hockey, and ping pong all in one:

This thread reminds me of how sad it is that kids today don't seem to have as many "big" playsets like older generations (80's especially). Looking at those Batcave comparisons is a prime example.

Same here mano, when I left my mom's place she donated all my toys to local charities and I think to Children's Hospital, not sure on that. I wouldn't have cared, but since they were mine, wouldn't have minded being asked, was saving them for the mini me and all lol

Wifespar got some sticks of beeswax and when I smelled them today it threw me back to me childhood. They smell EXACTLY like the wax from the Master Caster wax car maker I had as a kid. Haven't smelled that since, but it was the same and my brain connected to that memory instantly. You'd drop the wax pellet into the bowl, let it melt, then turn it to pour into the mold. Came with wheel sets you popped in place before pouring. Loved that thing, and all my cars eventually ended up brown from mixing the waxes.
