Can definitely see some of that Brink style in the character customization, but it still feels true to the Arkham series; awesome. Unfortunately I can't get into any matches, some people are saying they've gotten into a couple but it took hours of trying. I'll just try later.

Wolverine would kick the shit out of Batman. It's a no brainer. Wolverine could smell Batman coming, his claws can cut thru anything Batman can dish out. Batman doesn't have any superpowers. Batman would break his hands punching Wolverine's adamantium infused bones. Wolverine > Batman.

^Yes it is. I finally got into some matches. It's pretty fun but there are a lot of things to get used to and overcome. The movement of the thugs feels a bit slow, guess it has to be in relation to Batman but it's not quite ideal for multiplayer; I upped the sensitivity after playing so that may help. Grenades seem more prevalent than I'd like and a direct headshot with one is an insta-kill; I think it'd be more sporting if you didn't start with 'em and had to pick them up manually. Invisible Predator mode has a lot going on, it's neat but chaotic. When Bane steps into a confined area with you, you're screwed. I don't like being completely unable to avoid death in multiplayer, it takes away the control and sense of skill. The presentation is cool and does a lot of little things I haven't seen done before, but it definitely doesn't feel ready to ship, there's a lot of going through walls and twitching crazily upon death. I don't think this will be my mode of choice, I'm having fun though and could see myself playing a lot once I get used to it.

I'm thnking of getting the Arkham City Batman figure that's been hanging at my FYE for a while but wondering if I should wait for the Origins figure instead. I think I prefer the City costume but the added texture on the Origins one works really well in figure form. The Origins Bane and Deathstroke look like must-haves too but I so shouldn't start collecting another line. Here's the series 1 lineup if you haven't seen it: comicsalliance.com/dc-collectibles-debuts-more-batman-arkham-origins-action-figures-sdcc-2013/

Are you guys with the beta playing the single player game, or is it just multiplayer?

Been debating whether or not to keep it that way. Looks awesome as shit though.

Are you guys with the beta playing the single player game, or is it just multiplayer? Just multiplayer, and only invisible predator mode, but I think they're making the other multiplayer modes available tomorrow only as a teaser. It's growing on me a lot now that I'm using the thugs detective mode (weird I know, but good since it carries over some singleplayer elements even when not playing as Bats) and special abilities more I feel like I'm finally getting a leg up on the competition. I think a lot of players will be turned off by the multiplayer at first glance but it's cool once you get used to it. When playing as Batman it's just like singleplayer with smarter opponents and that's neat. And they have a kind of roulette wheel system to choose who gets to play as the heroes so it feels fair and it's never the same super-skilled players over & over. *SPOILER?*I also saw Bane "break the bat" while playing today and that was a really neat moment to happen in a multiplayer game.*SPOILER?* I'm thnking of getting the Arkham City Batman figure that's been hanging at my FYE for a while but wondering if I should wait for the Origins figure instead. I think I prefer the City costume but the added texture on the Origins one works really well in figure form. The Origins Bane and Deathstroke look like must-haves too but I so shouldn't start collecting another line. Been debating whether or not to keep it that way. Looks awesome as shit though. That's the one they have, I really haven't given them a good look before now because I couldn't handle collecting another line; but they are sweet and with the Origins figures it looks like they're only getting better. I started playing AC again to hone my Batman skills for multiplayer and now I'm all about the Arkham again, darnit.

I only have the one AC figure (b-day present from earlier this year) so I'm not really worried about getting started on another line. I'll probably get Origins Bane though.

I'm finally making progress in Arkham City. Just did the Freeze battle, it was awesome how he adapted to your traps and froze 'em. And the Old Gotham stuff before that was soo cool. It is an amazing game, taking NVT's advice and sticking to story first is really what I needed to do. And I've decided I do prefer the Origins Batman figure, first I thought it was too bulky but now I think that's a cooler look. It's coming in November so I should probably wait but I'm still really tempted to get the City one now.

SWEET DEAL: WB's online store is having a buy 2 get 1 free sale on Arkham City/Origins and Injustice figures through the 20th (21st at 6am technically). I'm thinking of pre-ordering Origins Bane & Batman and getting Catwoman or Azrael free. Not sure if they would ship the AC figure now or hold all 3 until December, but seems worth it either way. www.wbshop.com/category/on-sale/buy+two+get+one+free+action+figure+sale%21.do?nType=2

I completed Arkham City's story. I had a hard time getting into it but it was so amazing. Definitely making my top ten pick read Asylum/City now. Just so awesome words can't describe. My overall completion is 53% so still a lot left to do. Can't wait for the Origins collector's edition announcement this week.

Played through Harley Quinn's Revenge DLC. Cool little epilogue, Harley's great in these games. Playing as Robin was fun, I didn't know the bullet shield in Origins originated here, that's a kickass gadget I hope to see included with a figure at some point. I like how they teased the lasting effects of AC on Batman's psyche. Missed 5 balloons, darnit.

Origins US collector's edition revealed! $120, but that is a lot of stuff. Seems cool, I think I'd rather put the extra cash toward Origins figures though, unless the statue turns out to be really really amazing. But I don't love the Origins Joker design that much so it's doubtful.

At first I thought "Why would some versions come with a crappy old DVD instead of a Blu-ray? Does this set come out in 2003?" Then I remembered "Oh yeah, Xbox."

Thinking about it more, the LED aspect of the statue could be really cool, I wanna see the lit up tv's in action. But since Joker's hunched over I think it's around 10" scale, if it was in scale with the other figures it could've made for a sweet backdrop.

Darn, I bought Arkham Asylum GOTY earlier. First, later editions don't include the 3D glasses--which also work with AC and I hear are cool. 2nd: The save files aren't compatible with the original release so it's worthless for going after the 100% trophy. The only plus is the challenge maps and I hate those anyway.

I want to get those 3D glasses, I wonder if they'll work with Origins too.
I beat Arkham Asylum on hard, it definitely feels a bit dated after completing City. There are so many little things that were improved in City that I didn't fully appreciate before. Being able to slide while running, grapple while gliding, added quickfire gadgets, loss of wannabe guitar hero menus. It's kind of a sad realization, it's still awesome as hell but it doesn't feel quite as perfect.
Asylum does have its own charm, it's really cool seeing the island change as the game progresses, and its focus on a few villains gives them more of the spotlight. And I was glad to get a refresher on the story, I'd forgotten some details pertaining to Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, and Bane. I love the Scarecrow sections and that fear toxin flashback sequence where you relive Batman's parents' murder is such a great gaming moment. Hard mode wasn't too difficult but I prefer the blue lightning bolts in combat and the last few titan fights were infuriating.

^I'd totally forgotten about it so it got me again lol. It was great, I'm guessing from the clues in AC that Scarecrow will return in Rocksteady's next game; can't wait. But man, I'm so ready for Origins. In the meantime i've got a lot of challenge rooms to master.

I haven't played Asylum since AC came out. I knew it wouldn't feel quite the same after all the improvements in the sequel so I never went back to it. The best change to the controls they made was the ability to dive and gain altitude while gliding. I got so used to being able to do that and glide really far without landing that going back to the first one would feel weird, like riding a bike with training wheels.

It's true. The thing is, going back to it you find there isn't much room to glide anyway. The only times I really wanted to glide-grapple were to latch onto the side of a guard tower and take out one of the much more annoying snipers. I used to think AA was the perfect sized open world, but by the end of AC the city doesn't feel so big and going back to Arkham Island it feels very small. You also only have 2 quickfire gadgets and combat isn't quite as fluent. It's still great, but in hindsight I'd recommend not revisiting it and just watching the cutscenes on youtube to...keep the memories pure lol.

I think my favorite upgrade between Asylum and City is the combat beatdown. I love seeing the strategically placed hits on a guy. That and the skins. Gotta have my Beyond skin.
