I was extremely fortunate to be able to buy a new computer the other day. It's the 2.3 quad core i7 with the anti-glare hi-res screen. It's a great computer. It's a refurb, which saved me about $300 and you cannot tell that it is not brand new. It's the nicest computer I've ever had and I have a really nice wife for letting me get it. The Apple refurb program really is the way to go if you are looking for a Mac. I realize most of you guys are probably PC folks. The system has the same 1 year warranty that the new ones have and honestly, I feel like the fact that this one may have had an issue and then had to be brought back to new condition and then tested, etc. is an advantage over a new system. My previous system was a 2006 iMac which was also a refurb and it ran like a top for 6 years (it actually still works fine and is getting passed down to my son).

It does feel like being reequipped with God's own ball sack when you upgrade after a long time. I went from a 1GB 2006 Toshiba Satellite to a 6GB 2012 Satellite and love it. We also upgraded the 2004 desktop around the same time. Holy beans, it's such a massive bump in every aspect, it's like going from an abacus to a disruptor set on 'erase from existence and laugh at their mother'.

I bought some of the new Peanut Butter Toast Crunch cereal last night, and had a bowl this morning. Do you enjoy the texture and crunchiness of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but at the same time wish the flavor was more remiscent of salty cardboard? If so, then Peanut Butter Toast Crunch is the cereal for you!

I prefer just plain cardboard. Salted sounds too exciting for my tastes.

Bummer, I was hoping that stuff would be good! I love Cinnamon Toast Crunch! Another new thing I tried this week was C.O. Bigelow shaving cream from Bath and Body Works. This stuff is actually a rebranding of a cream from Proraso which is an Italian company that produces a couple of different shaving items. It lathered up nicely and has a nice scent. It has a little bit of tingle to it due to the eucalyptus oil. Now they make this stuff in a can as well, I don't like canned shaving cream, but it's an option for those who do. Honestly this stuff combined with a fresh DE blade in my razor gave what was probably the best shave I've ever had. I don't use it everyday (I have a number of creams and soaps that I rotate now) but it's definitely a nice treat. Also, for those looking to get into maybe using a lathering shave cream, the Walmart salsa bowls (the little yellow or green guys) are some of the best shaving bowls you can buy (and they're like a buck and a half) and a brush can be found at most Walgreens or CVS for about $8. Then you just have to pick a soap or cream.

What's the wife get out of all of this? You spending more time parked in front of the computer screen? Kudos Kabong for setting an example for husbands across the state of Texas. Old Man Molinito would be proud. ;D

Let's see the computer means that I spend less time tied to my desk so I can hang out with the family. The shaving bit combined with my shower takes about 45 minutes and evening and I look and smell OK so that's a plus for her too.

I just use an electric razor every few days. F#%K it! They hack the shit out of my face and I wind up all red and irritated. I even had one of the ones that had the Nivea crap that was supposed to prevent that and it still drove me nuts. Single edge shaving is the only thing that hasn't made my face break out or get all red and that still takes a bit of effort to achieve.

Electric razors are the worst, especially the ones with the three rotary circle shaver thingies.
I have a decent Remington and even that one sucks.

It's really healthy for your guts! Kefir cheese. I've had flavored liquid kefir before, it's like a runny yogurt. This is thick, rich and velvety like sour cream. It's got that sour yogurt tang, but can be mixed with many various spices and flavors to go with lots of stuff. Wifey put it on Townhouse crackers and drizzled some honey on it. I mixed in some spaghetti seasoning and ate it on olive oil and cracked pepper Triscuits. Or, you can just eat a big spoonful and leave it at that. ;D Might shit out your guts after the first time, but that's proof you need it.

Got one of those Pocket Hoses. It's neat! It really does crumple back up small each time so it doesn't take a lot of room. I have a 100-foot hose in back on a wheel rack and a coil one up front on a post, but the pocket one is great for quick and easy...um...hosing. I expected it to flop and fly like a fire hose as it fills, but it expands slowly.

Definitely best for a spigot where you don't want to leave the hose out.

I've been buying up clean "vintage" (read used) Tupperware to replace all the shitty rubbermaid plastic dishes in our house. Tupperware is pretty freaking awesome. I feel really weird and old typing that.

^ I used the salad spinner that's older than I am on some lettuce and spinach tonight and it reminded me of that post. I always thought it was Tupperware, but I looked at it earlier and it's Triumph. Huh. Looks just like this except the lid is brown, not orange. I guess it can be said that Triumph makes a damn fine product that stands the test of time. And lettuce.

This shit! Virtually replaced bread in the house lately. Picked some up at Costco last week on a whim, and they make sandwiches into something super fantastico. They're so soft and fluffy, but they hold up well and don't fall apart. Just had some pulled pork in one covered in Cholula, with fresh, spicy pico de gallo and shredded cabbage.

I picked up these headphones today, not exactly a smart purchase, they were just the nicest looking ones for the price at Wal-Mart. But I'm more pleased with 'em than expected so far. Obviously a huge improvement over earbuds and I think slightly better than my Sony monitor headphones I used before they broke from getting the cord rolled over too many times by a desk chair; nice bass that doesn't muddy the higher levels. Gonna record some new raps now. www.amazon.com/JVC-HAM55X-Quality-Xtreme-Xplosvs-Headphones/dp/B00D07CJQS/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Good idea, Razdical. That kind of stuff needs better than earbuds.
Adding to the review thing, I swear by Monoprice.com. Been using them for years, but it's been a few years since I bought anything from them. Ordered a 3-way HDMI switch and a couple of HDMI cables yesterday morning, and paid $5.99 for overnight shipping. They showed up about 10am today. What kind of insane fool would pay $25 or more for a cable, when you can get a perfect one for $3? The switch works perfectly, too. Wifespar's TV only has one HD input, so being able to use the PS3 and 4 without hassle was important. That was only ten bucks.

Forgot I bought this at a antique fair last year, the same time I bought a set of 4 cafeteria trays. Big fan. It's a glass-lined coffee carafe. Ran across it in the cabinet when I was getting the blender out the other day, so I pulled it out to finally try it. Made a pot of coffee and poured it in there. It was still hot over 6 hours later. Problem with coffee pots is that they burn the coffee if you leave the heating element on. Tastes horrible. This thing keeps is piping hot and tasty for much of the day. Way to go old Japanese carafe maker.

Every one I have bought and returned has broke nearly immediately at the cheap as fuck plastic ends and started spraying water everywhere.

Actually, it became a soaker hose. Turned it on one day and water seeped out from the entire length of it, so I trashed it. MIL sent me a second one last year after getting it one sale somewhere and I only opened it a few days ago. So far it's fine, but I expect that it will crap out. I did see that they have since redesigned them almost entirely, with better materials. Maybe they're better now.
I love sour candy.

I'm not big on sour candy, had some Razzles for the first time in years a couple weeks ago and was caught completely off guard.
