Anyone read it yet? Didn't realize it was already out. How is it? I really liked Superman EO, even got Shane Davis to sign it!

It's good. Geoff Johns really can't write a bad comic. It's not totally different, but I really like the take he did. I prefer it to the Emo-Superman that was S-EO.

I picked up the Superman: Earth One book for 75% when Borders closed a while ago, so maybe I'll get the Batman one too. I like this creative team much more.

How is the Superman one? I have yet to read it, but honestly, not the biggest Supes fan to begin with

I liked Superman Earth One just fine, but unfortunately it was a 'reboot right before the BIG reboot (New 52)' I fear that unless the Earth One series picks up soon, it may disappear into just a rare book that people have forgotten.
Still need to get the Batman one- it's been sold out at my local store- which is a great sign!

DC published three different Superman origin stories within two years of each other, and they wonder why so many casual fans are hesitant to start reading more comics...

I saw it the last time I was in Books-A-Million and was considering it but I don't care for hardcover graphic novels. I'm planning to get it though even if I have to shell out extra for hardcover.

I just read it. It was... pretty bad. Completely pointless, actually. Since DC has the "New 52" now to reboot characters and origins, these Earth One books officially have no reason to exist. Seriously, was anyone really asking for another update on Batman's early years? Did DC forget that "Year One" and "The Long Halloween", or hell, "Batman Begins" already exist? And then there's the new villain Geoff Johns came up with. The Birthday Boy, aka the new Stupidest Batman Villain Ever. Just insanely, ridiculously dumb. He already has a new, semi-interesting take on the Penguin in the book, but this new guy is just completely stupid. Geoff Johns already borders on self-parody most of the time anyway, but with this book he officially jumped the shark. It's not cool-dumb, it's just dumb-dumb. Yeesh. And to think I wasted my 30% discount for August on this thing.
