No spoilers, please. I'm thinking Tywin. The Lannister legacy would be forever tarnished if that sadistic little brat ruled for long. It would be even worse if someone found out he was the son of his son and daughter. Get him out now before he does any more damage after causing the war by killing Ned Stark.

Potential spoilers, highlight to read..
I read a post yesterday putting forward the idea that Granny Tyrell poisoned Joffrey's cup using one of the crystals on the necklace Sansa got from the fool (can't remember his name). She was wearing it at the wedding, and Granny Tyrell inspects it closely and touches it at one point, and later one of the crystals is missing. Then Joffrey dies and the fool sneaks up behind Sansa and tells her to get the hell out of there.
My theory that Littlefinger is also involved somehow still stands though. I watched the wedding scene again last night, and Varys is in the crowd but Littlefinger isn't.

Is it really a spoiler though if it's just pointing out something that happened in an episode? I'm one of the many fans of the show who hasn't read the books (yet), so I have no idea how this storyline plays out in the books.

It doesn't matter to me as its already been spoiled for me. I'm just saying that for the benefit of others. Whoever is "claiming" to have posted that as their theory isn't really posting their theory at all but do what you like.

I tried to be subtle. Re-edited the initial post on it four times to make it as vague as possible. Blame whoever is posting it and pretending they are that clever to have figured it out when there is no way possible based on the information revealed on TV as opposed to the source.

I can't remember where it was that I found that article, but whoever wrote it was at least tactful enough to not come out and say THIS IS HOW IT HAPPENED IN THE BOOK, more of a LOOK AT THESE THINGS YOU MAY HAVE MISSED approach. They analyzed the episode using ONLY STUFF IN THE EPISODE, with a single reference to something from the book.

Good episode tonight.
Charles Dance continues to be the coolest person in any scene he's in, and even though Tywin is an emotionless bastard I still really like that dude, because Charles Dance.

It's interesting, I hate the character more because of the events of the Game Of Thrones video game than anything he's done on the show. Charles Dance totally is perfect in the role. My biggest takeaway from tonight's episode was dammit Kingslayer, I thought you were cool now. The moral ups and downs with these characters are unrivaled. Great episode though, so many brilliant moments. My favorite line of the night was simple, especially compared to the genius Tywin monologue, but it hit me at my core, the sincerely delivered "I don't think I can kill a hundred wildlings" lol aww man, I love those Night's Watch misfits. And The Hound seemed like such a dick, but then it was like damn, his reasoning is sound. I love the moral complexity. It sucks that they had to switch actors for Khaleesi's new champion guy, I heard the first guy left to takeover for Jason Statham in the Transporter series, but I think the new one's more likeable at least. The way he took out that other guy was so badass.

I just found out the actor who plays the Hound was also the "Yarp" guy in Hot Fuzz. Mind=blown.

That big Cersei/Jaime scene is causing quite the uproar. They changed it from the scene in the book, where the sex is consensual rather than rape. But on a show with multiple atrocities committed every episode, I'm not sure why one horrible act is worse than another. Is it because rape is more prevalent in modern society than cannibalism, torture, regicide, or burning people alive (all of which we've seen in the last 2 episodes alone)?
Yeah, that rape scene was brutal and horrible and really tough to watch, but I know what I'm in for with this show.

It did hit me more strongly than a lot of moments on the show, I think more because I didn't expect it from the character. Probably not the same reason as the people complaining. The internet is insanely overzealous about women's rights right now, it's a fine cause but they've turned it into a ridiculous farce, so I don't put much stock in that kind of outcry anymore. In general, political correctness seems to be going to out of control insincere levels and it's fucking wack.
And I think it makes sense in the context, Jaime was basically agreeing to kill his brother for her just like so many terrible acts he'd done for her before, and he was taking what he felt he was owed for it. It wouldn't have made sense for Cersei to play seductress while standing over her son's corpse. Totally fucked up, but that's Game Of Thrones.

The internet hive-mind is right to be up in arms about sexual violence, in real life. Whether it's sexual assault in the military or on college campuses or discouraging young people away from slut-shaming a girl because of her outfit, any attention that be drawn to that stuff is a good thing because those are real problems that exist in the real world.
But Game of Thrones is not the real world. If people can't realize that and begin to hold creative people accountable for the actions of fictional characters then that's another problem entirely. Because if novelists are responsible for the content of their work then where does that end? How many people did Shakespeare kill? How much abject poverty was Charles Dickens responsible for?

Man, season 4 is kicking all the asses so far. Even Bran's story is finally getting interesting.
And that scene at the very end of the episode with Albino Darth Maul and the baby was some creepy shit, and a cool callback to the very first scene in the pilot episode. The White Walkers aren't quite what I thought they were, but since we really had no idea what they were until now any info is new info.

Yeah, I thought the white walkers were braindead zombie-like creatures themselves. I love how the supernatural reveals are so spread out, each time it drastically changes the Westeros you thought you knew.

I totally didn't expect that, it was great. And Aria keeps getting more badass. Sansa really can't catch a break. Can't wait for the trial next week.

Dinklage really killed it in that last scene. And now I wanna know what the hell Tywin said to Shae when he had her brought to his room before King Dickbag's wedding.
