Hi gang. Two questions: 1. Is there a way to save a youtube clip to the hard drive? 2. What feature do I look for in a camera when I need to take a real closeup? Like details on action figures and such? Maybe someone can recommend a cheaper camera that currently sells in stores? Thanks!

I've used YouTube Downloader for a while, but I don't use it much. There are several YT DL programs out there that will allow you save them. Many, like YouTube Downloader, also convert to mp3 if it's a music or audio clip you want.
Macro is what you want for close-ups. The Olympus Stylus 7010 I have even has a super Macro for really close focus. I got it on sale about 5 months ago for about $120. Get a small tripod, too, if you want really clear close-ups. They're cheap as hell.

Thanks!
Looking at a few on ebay. Is the macro part of the zoom? or is it a separate setting on the cam?

Standard macro setting should get you a full figure closeup with good clarity.

Thanks! Looking at a few on ebay. Is the macro part of the zoom? or is it a separate setting on the cam? Separate setting. You don't zoom with macro. You physically set the camera close to the item being photographed. The camera has an auto setting for PHD users (Push Here, Dummy) which is what I use most of the time. But you can use the manual setting as well and the macros are options you can choose. Flash is disabled in macro setting, which is why additional lighting might be necessary. It has a pretty decent internal memory size, so you don't need a memory card right out of the box. Takes video as well which is fair quality.
