Animals and wildlife are always cute, but that first frog pic really stands out to me. And the one with the shed in Vermont is just Awesome!

Those aren't crappy at all, they're very nice. I think a few of them could really benefit from a couple postprocessing techniques, like sharpening and slightly bumping up the contrast/Saturation (The red tones in that shed picture would really pop). Oh and please don't take that as an insult, I'm in the Ansel Adams camp when it comes to processing.

If you are shooting digital you have two major ways of going about it. You can a shoot in JPEG, and set the white balance saturation and all other controls in camera, and allow the camera to process the image.
Or you can shoot raw and process the image in Adobe Photoshop raw, aperture, light room, so on. Shooting raw allows for you to have a lot more wiggle room in the way the final image turns out, and is the closest to the chemical process.
You'll find a rather well etched line in the sand if you start asking photographers which is better ;D
My personal workflow is to shoot raw, process in light room, spot edit in Photoshop, then retouching in Photoshop, and save three copies tif, high-definition (700 dpi) JPEG, JPEG for web ( depending on client project).
Some photographers believe the only way to go is to set all in camera, and do minimal postprocessing, but those photographers usually have more stringent deadlines. I would rather solely concern myself with f-stop lighting shutter speed and ISO when on-site, but I am commercial landscape editorial, and can see where most journalist and sports photographers are coming from..
