Hot Toys just killed my wallet the last couple weeks. They have been revealing new Star Wars figures and so far RoTJ Jedi Luke, The Emperor, Royal Guard and now today Grand Moff Tarkin. My bank account just officially tapped out lol

Stick with ROTJ Luke and maybe Tarkin, then buy food.

Mezco One: 12 has some cool new DC releases. Ghostrider is gonna flip when he sees Batman Beyond. They aren't pictured here, but I've pre-ordered BvS Knightmare Batman and movie Wonder Woman. news.toyark.com/2017/07/19/sdcc-2017-gallery-mezco-one12-collective-dc-comics-dc-movies-260487As for Marvel, I'm surprised they're doing Thor: Ragnarok. They look damn impressive, but I'm gonna pass. The only Marvel ones I want at the moment are X-Force Wolverine (not pictured), which I've pre-ordered and Deadpool, which I'm on the waitlist for, but prob will not be able to get through Mezco directly and will have to pay way more later on. news.toyark.com/2017/07/19/sdcc-2017-gallery-mezco-one12-collective-marvel-260509On the horror front, I'm tempted to pick up their Dawn of the Dead figures, but trying to stick only to comic related figures that have cool enough costumes to warrant cloth outfits. I wanted their Ash figure at first, but upon further soul-searching, I think I'll stick with Neca's Evil Dead offerings. news.toyark.com/2017/07/19/sdcc-2017-gallery-mezco-one12-collective-horror-ghostbusters-others-260539

Yeah...those are cool but they look too much like dolls with the fabric clothes and all. Not saying I won't get it but it depends on how much they are.

They retail for like $80 but are usually more if you don't get them right away. I got their Judge Dredd and Punisher and have been blown away by them. I'm not usually one for cloth outfits either, but the amount of detail they're able to get in at the 6" scale is mindblowing. I'm trying not to get carried away with them either though since they are so expensive.

Hmm...that is kind of pricey. Looks like I'll have some time to mull it over though so that's helpful.

I haven't gotten any of the One:12 figures since the line started with DKR Batman (I got both versions before prices went totally bonkers), but I'm getting that guy for sure. As soon as preorders go live, he's mine. And if there's an exclusive version with an unmasked Terry head, I'll get that one.

It's Hiya Toys though. From the reviews I've seen they fall apart as soon as you open 'em.

Mezco's One:12 line pretty much stole the show at SDCC (except for NECA'S Guillermo Del Toro line, those are genuine works of art). Batman Beyond Netflix Daredevil I Don't Know Where This Design Is From But I Like It Batman Red Son Superman (I've had this guy on preorder since he was first announced) Michael Myers (this line is roughly in scale with NECA's stuff, so this guy should fit in just fine with NECA's Freddy, Jason, and Leatherface) GLADIATOR HULK!!!!

Interesting interaction with Diamond Select Toys on Facebook...
Me: I was hoping to see Pulp Fiction Select Series 2 on display at SDCC. Obviously, it wasn't. What happened?
DST: Still pending approval. We don;t show everything we're workgin on. But Series 1 ships soon.
Me: Hope approval doesn't take much longer. (DST showed the prototypes to press at SDCC last year, right?) I have a feeling there's a lot of people who might not buy Jules Winfield unless they know there's a Vincent Vega coming.
DST: Everyone should know there is a Vincent coming by now, we've told everyone, and showed it to retailers. Looking at one online store, Jules seems to be selling out in advance the fastest, so it doesn't seem to be an issue. And we first showed the prototypes a few years ago, it's been a long road.
Me: So, I'll ask what approval is pending, Licensor approval, likeness approval, or DST final approval on production samples? I was glad to see that Jules pre-sold out on BBTS, because even though it might make finding my own Jules Winnfield figure a little bit harder, I would hope that would be encouraging to the powers that be over at Diamond and let them know that there would definitely be healthy retailer/customer interest for his partner, at least. Let me put it this way: Barring any delays, Wave 1 is due out in September, correct? How soon would it be realistic to expect to see Vincent, Mia, (and I don't know who the third figure planned for wave 2 is, so I'll just assume The Wolf or Jimmy until I hear otherwise) on store shelves after that?
DST: I'm sorry, we don't discuss our approvals process that in-depth with fans. We are definitely making Vincent, and Mia, and Jimmy, and the Wolf. We are releasing them all, and we will offer them when they are ready adn we are ready to take orders.

DST is a weird company. They have no trouble at all cranking out Minimates by the thousands (which is cool, because I love those things), but when it comes to things people have been asking for for years (like 6-7" Pulp Fiction figures), they drag their feet like crazy.
And then last time I was at Toys R Us, I saw they had DST Mallrats figures on the shelf. Seriously, who the hell is buying Mallrats figures in 2017?

The one thing I wanted to say but obviously didn't, since I don't want DST blocking me on Facebook, was that I never got my Adama, Baltar, and Roslyn figures, which they did show prototypes of, and not just to press and retailers like with Pulp Fiction Select Series 2, no matter how this person wants to make it sound (They did not tell everyone. The only reason I knew Vince and Mia were in the works were because of leaked photos and info from that closed showing at Comic Con last year), and wound up selling every BSG figure I had except one Cylon, so I'm not going to count on anything being released until I see it on the fucking shelf. Also, is it just me or did this person sound a little punchy to you guys?

Ehh, I can kind of see why they didn't want to discuss the approval process. Most of the time when companies show off their upcoming stuff at Toy Fair or SDCC they'll have a little "Pending Licensor Approval" sign by the figures. I have no idea what all goes into that process, but I can see why they'd want to keep that stuff within the company. I've heard other companies shoot their mouths off too soon before, only to be proven wrong later. Like I swear I read something from someone at Funko promising that there would be a Game of Thrones Legacy series 3, that he was looking at the prototypes as he spoke, but that was years ago and the whole Legacy line is deader than Joffrey.
Also, didn't DST also show off a 7" Kill Bill line that also got canceled?

Like I said, after they showed off series 2 to press and retailers only in a closed event and told them "no pictures," I was expecting to see them in the case at SDCC with tags that said exactly that, as I so often do (it's not like DST didn't have figures right there with those tags this year). As far as what happened with the Kill Bill figures, I'm not about to ask them about that. Help yourself.

The brilliance of Minimates and Funko Pops is they don't require likeness rights so they can just bust out every character we've ever wanted in a month and make a fortune while companies like NECA have to sacrifice 8,000 goats to the ancient ones every year for 8 years to make one goddamn action figure of Paul Reiser. Also, yeah. Who the hell is buying Mallrats figures? I've resorted to collecting Minimates mostly because there's just nothing else on the shelves. The little bastards are fun to photograph though.

Oh man, I have the One:12 X-Force Wolverine preordered, but Mezco just announced the classic blue & yellow version. It will be available for preorder exclusively on their site 9/6 and at NYCC. They fixed the shorts and shoulder pads from the brown & yellow version (ofcourse, since that one still isn't out, they may fix them on that one before release) and it's the only one to include an unmasked head. The X-Force series' that included the gray & black costumes were some of my last favorite comics I've read and I really like that look for Wolvie, but I've always found blue & yellow to be his most iconic look and it looks awesome in this format. It'll be tough deciding which to get by Wednesday.

I ended up preordering the Tiger Stripe Wolverine. It turns out you do only have to put $20 down. I know I would hate missing out on that one.

He should have four Berettas: Two tuck into his pants and two go in the shoulder holsters. Looks fucking great, otherwise.
