I just tweeted at Randy about whether those figures will be available online like in previous years, and he said it's not likely. Which kinda sucks because the closest TRUs are 45 and 90 minutes away. I was thinking of making a run to the nearest one tomorrow anyway to check for some new Marvel Legends, so hopefully I'll get lucky and find these two also.
Fingers crossed.

Made the trek to the closest TRU on Saturday, and no Bats or Harleys. Since I can't be bothered to keep making that drive, I'm probably gonna have to bite the bullet and get these two on eBay. I wonder why they didn't make them available through the Warners eBay store like in previous years. Kinda blows.

I just pulled the trigger on both Batman and Harley from eBay for $75 with free shipping. Pricey, but it beats trying to track them down at TRU when there aren't any nearby. And compared to what some other sellers were charging, $75 for both figures is as good a deal as I could find.

The cancelled 4th wave of Prometheus figures is un-cancelled! "Lost Wave" coming out next spring. As one of the people who thinks (correctly) that Prometheus is a really good movie and that everybody else is wrong, I was super bummed when the toy line ended without Shaw and Vickers getting made. I guess with Prometheus 2 Paradise Alien Covenant coming out, NECA worked their magic and found a way to release the cancelled figures. Yay!

Prometheus is the 3rd best movie in the Alien franchise. Not a high bar to clear to get that bronze, true, but I still like that movie.

Alien 3 is the third best movie in the Alien franchise. Prometheus is fourth, but it's only because Resurrection is so unbelievably bad.

Alien 3 is the third best movie in the Alien franchise. Prometheus is fourth, but it's only because Resurrection is so unbelievably bad. I'd rank the first AvP above Prometheus for the simple fact that AvP knew it was dumb af, and if we aren't counting AvP's then the same goes for Resurrection. Prometheus has the nerve to be pretentious and dumb af at the same time, while destroying Cameron's alien life-cycle which is the closest thing I have to religion.

The Toy Fair reveals are awesome. I'd like to get:
- Hicks & Hudson 2-pack. - Aliens Arsenal pack. - AvP Dark Horse Top-Knot - AvP (2010) video game Xeno Pred. - Batman vs. Predator/Superman Vs. Aliens. - Ultimate Jungle Hunter/City Hunter. - Evil Dead 2 2-pack.
maybe:
- Batman vs. Aliens. - T2 3D T-800. - Retro Chucky.
That is a lot.

Prometheus has the nerve to be pretentious and dumb af at the same time, while destroying Cameron's alien life-cycle which is the closest thing I have to religion. There's no self awareness in those movies, especially Resurrection. It seems like there should be, and that's because the script was written tongue-in-cheek by Joss Whedon. But then the studio hired a director who didn't even speak fucking English and wanted the cast and crew to play everything straight. A few actors didn't (Ron Perlman and Brad Dourif), because how would Jeunet have known the fucking difference. The result is a mess. AVP is dumb as fuck, but it has as much self awareness as a Michael Bay Movie. Anderson's entire directing style on that film, the fucking script, too, is just " Isn't this cool? Now check out this fucking thing. BAM! That was cool, huh?"Prometheus is pretentious and and badly written and even confusing at times, but it's well acted and smartly directed, and everybody was on the same page, regardless of whether we like that page or not.

So NECA is starting a "Collector's Club" thing for their Alien line, with an exclusive figure available at the end of the year. Sounds cool, right? It's not. The only way to become a member and remain a member so you get access to the exclusive end-of-year Alien figure is to buy every single Alien thing they make available through the club. Right now they're selling preorders of series 11 (with Lambert, blue Kenner Alien, and an Alien from the "Defiance" comic series), so you'd need to preorder that set plus everything else they sell through the club if you want to even get a chance at the limited-edition club exclusive. Even worse, the end-of-year exclusive isn't a free gift to say "Hey, thanks for joining the club and supporting the line, here's a cool free limited-edition figure!", you have to buy it. And they're not saying what that exclusive will be, just that it will be limited. I don't know... I've been pretty much a completist on their Alien line since it started, but I really don't like the idea of buying stuff I don't want just for the opportunity to buy an exclusive at the end of the year that could turn out to be some glow-in-the-dark bullshit or one of the expensive 1/4 scale figures I don't get. This sounds like some bullshit. thenecastore.com/pages/neca-club-x-alien-faq

This is THE worst subscription service I've ever heard of. No company is worse with useless rehashes, so being a completionist of NECA products is already a terrible deal. Holding one figure hostage unless you buy all of those unnecessary releases is extremely anti-consumer bs.
I was excited to see a fully stocked shelf of NECA at TRU the other day, but then I looked closer and realized it was just 4 each of ultimate Biker Cop T-1000, Kenner Predator Clan Leader, 8-Bit T-800, red Xeno 2-packs, a glow in the dark Xeno, and the $45 for a new headsculpt Ripley/Newt 2-pack. A full shelf of recycled and/or neon repainted filler bullshit I have no use for. I left with the Minimates Aliens APC for $15.

I don't mind the repaints/rehashes in the Alien line that much. The movies and games and comics always use the same basic creature design with a few new touches added in, so it makes sense for the toy line to do the same. What I do mind is being told there's gonna be a limited-run, exclusive figure at the end of the year without being shown what that figure will be, and being expected to buy EVERYTHING in the 7" scale (1/4 scale isn't required for the club) in order to even get a chance at the exclusive mystery figure. It would make more sense to show everyone what the club exclusive figure is gonna be, so people can choose whether they want to buy all the stuff required to get the exclusive. Or better yet, since NECA is so into the 90s nostalgia, let people send in UPCs to the exclusive.
I'm gonna skip the stupid club and order the stuff I want from BBTS. They're cheaper anyway, and they combine shipping costs if you order a bunch of stuff at once. If the exclusive at the end of the year is really cool, I'll try to get one on eBay.

The final SDCC exclusive this year is the Dutch figure they said they'd never make. I have all the other Dutches, so I'll probably getting this one too. And I REALLY want that awesome 80's TMNT animated series box set too. It's $200, but it comes with 8 figures so the price winds up not being too crazy in the end.

If NECA doesn't get off their lazy 80s asses and do some goddamned A-Team figures, I'll put Blockbuster Video out of business.
