Yeah that's the version I ordered, not to much considering it's a DX.
I read about Cap on the Sideshow Freaks forum, pics were removed I never saw them. I'm just hoping about the head.

He is a Sideshow Premium Format statue, not Hot Toys figure. Preorder started last thursday. We got 2 of the exclusive. They didn't announce the edition size though, which is a bummer.

Really? It's not made by hot toys. Also, no accessories, and no articulation. Well, almost no articulation.

So the DX Luke looks nice, actually rather tempting, does the lightsaber actually light up? Sure would be nice.

At first glance it's misleading, but it says so right in the pic.

Yeah I was looking at the BBTS preorder, nothing I saw that said otherwise. I'm sure someone will do custom light up sabers, like the light up Whiplash whips.

Not Luke. Looks like Hamill's stunt double in Luke's outfit. Pass for us.

Yes, better, but still, not him.. Look too old, and the chin is too massive. A definite miss for Hot Toys.

Hot Toys have let their quality fall and their prices rise as of late. I've grown disenfranchised, which sucks because I was around to see them improve since their early military days, get better and better and finally have their prices supersede the quality.

Very true, although sometimes they still produce a gem, like Jack Sparrow, and Superman.

Although I agree with the sentiments that HT has slipped while demanding substantially more for their product...Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher have always seemed to be difficult for people to sculpt properly for some reason.

My first reaction to the $300 price tag on Luke was "No fucking way", but then I realized it not only comes with two PERS headsculpts and two outfits, but two bodies as well. That's two complete figure for $150 each, which just so happens to be right around my limit for a HT figure.
Plus, the exclusive version comes with a cool Vader head. I'm sold.

I really hate it when they don't announce the edition number. It's like with the exclusive Superman - Everybody has one, and they still have him in stock.

Yes the Chris Evans and Hugo Weaving head sculpts are a bit off but I have a feeling it's prototypes.

So we're getting a fucking Predator that wasn't even in the movies (or comics, I'm pretty sure), but a battle damaged T-800 from either movie and a 1984 Kyle Reese, those are no where in sight.

The predator is a statue. I know it says 1/6 figure, but it's just a 1/6 statue. And it's not made by HT. They're just carrying it like Sideshow carries HT figures. HT released another statue by this same artist a couple of years ago.
I do agree on the Terminator stuff though, but I can see the marketing logic in it. Strike while the iron is hot on stuff like Avengers and Iron Man and Batman movie figures. Us Terminator fans have been around for 20+ years now, so that property has a strong fanbase that will buy figures whenever they finally come out. Still doesn't mean I have to like it.

Yeah. I was reading, and apparently it's a figure made from a statue. Just a statue that they added some joints to. Back when it was first announced they said it was a 1/6 statue. Still not an HT figure though, so it's not like they wasted time making this when they could have been making something else. But yeah, I'm not a fan of this particular sculptor's style with preds.

As far as striking when the Iron is hot, Iron Man II came out a year and a half ago, the first one came out three and a half years ago, and people all over facebook and other boards have started to complain about too much Iron Man stuff, especially the silly repaints and redos. Once they put out the Iron Monger figure, they need to stop with that line...at least until Iron Man III comes out.

Sideshow Collectibles and Hot Toys are proud to present the first entry in Hot Toys' Artist Collection, the Samurai Predator Collectible figure. A collaboration project with artists Mr. Takayuki Takeya and Mr. Yuji Oniki from Japan, the Samurai Predator features a newly sculpted head and body, detailed accessories, weaponry, and a diorama base with a defeated Alien body. The Samurai Predator Sixth Scale Figure features: Original Samurai Warrior design Realistic sixth scale measuring approximately 14 inches (35 cm) tall Over 22 points of articulation Newly sculpted head and body Interchangeable open and closed mandibles Movable jaw Fabric net on left chest Fabric skirt Two (2) pieces of interchangeable palms including: One (1) pair of open palms One (1) pair of holding palms One (1) articulated left shoulder canon One (1) broken sword with Alien cells One (1) sword with sheath Four (4) attached swords at the back One (1) helmet One (1) additional mouth mask One (1) neck armor One (1) set of shoulder armor One (1) left chest armor One (1) pair of forearm gauntlets with movable hooks on right side Waist and thigh armor One (1) set of leg armor Extendable Alien tongue trophies on waist One (1) dead Alien head accessory One (1) diorama base featuring defeated Alien body and broken sword piece www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4489&sku=901696&ref=home&new&preorderThe product summary from Sideshow's page and the gallery showing this guy in a bunch of different poses should leave no doubt that this is an action figure, and not a statue, which like I said, had already been released in Asia. It also only weighs about five pounds with it's accessories, meaning it's plastic and not polystone or resin. And iit may not be sculpted by Hot Toys regular team...Hot Toys is releasing this thing, and it's not a canon Predator, and it's not a fucking battle-damaged Terminator. The points I made earlier stand.

Hahaha. I'm not arguing with you. I'm agreeing. It was originally stated when it was teased that it was a statue. Apparently that changed. When I said it was a statue with joints I didn't mean it was a poseable polystone statue. I meant they just took a statue by that Takeya guy and modified the sculpt to have joints and made a plastic action figure. Essentially taking a statue and making a figure version of it. I doubt a lot of R&D time was put into it by the HT Team.
And what I meant about the Marvel movie stuff is it's currently the flavour of the month (people still buy the shit out of IM stuff even though they're growing tired of it), and there's no guarantee 20 years from now they could sell out IM figures like they can Terminator stuff. I'm sick of 5 slightly different Iron Man figures every year too, but they're making a shitload on the license, so they're going to abuse it.
Yulli said when they started with the Terminator license they they were gonna try to release everything the fans wanted since they were huge fans too. I'm sure they're gonna release more Terminator stuff. They'd be stupid NOT to release a BD T2 and Police Shootout T1 and Reese. They're just gonna keep pumping out Iron Men, Avengers, Jack Sparrows and other random licenses here and there until they stop being profitable. It's the same with MGS. They said they're gonna do it, but they know they can sit on it, and people will still buy them out when they make them.
They're gonna make the stuff I want, I'm 100% sure. I can wait. The only thing I care about is more Terminator, more Lost Preds and maybe a couple of MGS characters. I gave '86 my original RoboCop years ago, but I'm hoping eventually they do a DX. I know she's probably happy with what she's got, but if they get Weller's likeness on a DX we'll be getting it.
