I'm skipping Suicide Squad in theaters. What they did to Harley Quinn is unforgivable, like giving Batman a gun or turning Superman into a mopey sadsack. I'm not that familiar with her other than a few episodes I've seen of TAS and Arkham Knight. What did they change aside from her costume?

Hopefully it's not as bad as it looks, but I loved the character so much on BTAS that any major changes just seem wrong to me, like painting a hat on the Mona Lisa. I guess I'm a purist about Harley Quinn.

Suicide Squad down to 29% on RT. The DCEU is falling apart faster than the Trump campaign. They better hope it has a seriously huge weekend or their "Let's just copy Marvel" strategy is fucked.

that's only 2 points off from BvS and it hasn't even opened yet
BvS started off with a somewhat decent score at first but went down after release
SS started off with a terrible score right out of the gate, I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up in the teens
several people have said it's nearly at F4 levels of suck

Damn, they cut an interesting trailer that made it look potentially fun at least, even with Will Smith. Sounds like complete shit now.

Apparently there was a lot of higher-ups meddling with the movie during production. I really hope they get their shit together before they end up just dropping DC movies all together.
I'd rather not go back to only getting Batman movies every few years.

I just wish we could've gotten a good series of Superman movies without the studio having to force Batman in at the earliest possible opportunity.

I finally watched BvS and I was surprised to find that I didn't hate it and wasn't miserable throughout its duration. I'm sure much of this is owed to months of expecting to hate it and being able to enjoy it in the comfort of my own home. For the record, I also watched the Ultimate Edition and can't compare it to the theatrical cut. If there was an edit where Batman didn't kill every thug he encountered I would be quite okay with the movie. As it stands, I'm okay with it. The plot was surprisingly not terrible.
I think it would be a stronger movie without the Superman in the mountains scene and, as visually cool as the Knightmare scene is (even though Kung Fury had better choreography), it also just made things confusing when plopped right into the middle of a developing plot for the sake of setting up future movies. It may have been more appropriate as a post-credits scene. There were some lines of dialogue that tried too hard and it still seems like there's a fundamental lack of understanding the characters, or the characters' usual morals and ideals are just being sacrificed for the sake of being extreme, but I wasn't too bothered by it in this one other than the aforementioned Batman killing dudes.
I enjoyed it and I thought it was not a bad movie. It's nowhere near Nolan-good. It's weird and kind of dumb and some well-conceptualized scenes could've been much better with stronger dialogue (like the "do you bleed, you will" scene. It was a great setup but came across as awkward to me, like it needed more words in there to be a full scene). But, it didn't bore me, it didn't have too many silent montages, it didn't present extremely dumb scenes like they were masterfully brilliant--but I get the Martha meme now and agree, that could've been handled better--probably by having more dialogue. It avoided most of the flaws I expected. I need more time to take it in before I can process how much I liked it, but I'm relieved that it wasn't a painful experience.

I do want to see the extended cut of BVS at some point, even though I really didn't like the theatrical version. I seriously doubt 30 added minutes will help a movie that's already as overstuffed as that one, but I'm still curious.
My main takeaway was that DC was copying Marvel's template, but what they wound up doing was cramming Iron Man 2, Avengers 1, and Civil War all into one movie. The experiment didn't work.

It occurred to me today that I liked BvS a looooot better than Age of Ultron. I NEVER would've expected that. I'm watching BvS again tonight. I rarely watch movies a second time that quickly after the first viewing, but there's so much to see in this movie, I'm compelled to take it all in again.

collider.com/man-of-steel-2-update-warner-bros/Yay! I knew it was probably going to happen eventually but it's nice to hear that it's official. And that they're going to make him more Superman-like in terms of character is just aces. Hopefully Man of Steel/Dawn of Justice Superman is kind of like New 52 Superman and Justice League/future DC movies Superman will the more like the classic version everyone knows and loves.

Isn't that pretty much exactly how Deathstroke looks like on that TV show I've never seen?

So I'm probably the only guy here that gives a shit about Aquaman but they announced Patrick Wilson (Nite Owl in the Watchmen movie) as Orm/Ocean Master in the Aquaman movie. Was hoping for Black Manta but Orm works too.
