Wifespar wanted to do some shopping, so while she was looking at clothes I checked out the Disney Store. They were having an additional 40% off clearance stuff. The Selects were already marked down, so with the extra off I got Drax, Quill, Groot, and Agent Venom for $12 each. They also had the remaining die-cast 6" Star Wars still marked at $5.99, so 40% off of that, and I managed to find both Baze and Chirrut. The 10" premium figures were marked at $7.99, so got Kylo Ren and a Death Trooper for about $4.80 each. Only wish they'd had the Gamora/Rocket Select to round out the series. I'll have to find it somewhere now. Killer savings today on some great shit. Wow, nice deals!

Hells yeah, they were! Of course, all 53 pounds of Groot has some floppy joints. Not good with a figure that heavy. But I managed a cool pose with him. The others have good joints and are pretty solid all-around for Selects, which were obviously meant for non-openers to collect. LOL It's amazing how much space those packages take up in the recycle can. So much wasted space in Select boxes.

Don't think I posted this before. Did this earlier in the month to my Squier Strat. I had a nasty cold, and on the day I took off from work, I grabbed my steel wool and started running it across the back of the neck. I don't like the slick poly finishes on necks, they get sticky when it's warm. So I made it more of a satin finish. Then, for some reason that didn't occur to me consciously, I took the entire guitar apart. I removed the scratch plate, all the electronics, took it down to the body. Then I started with the rougher grade steel wool, then medium, and then fine. And over the next 3 days I rubbed that sucker into a silky satiny finish. Doesn't look cheap with the shiny poly finish anymore and feels great to the touch. During that time I looked online for some new hardware. I knew I wanted to change everything. After a lot of back-and-forth and changing my mind on all the combinations, I finally settled on an antique pearl pickguard with 2 P90 pickups, black at the bridge and cream at the neck. It came with cream volume and tone knobs, but I swapped those with a couple of chrome domes I had from another guitar I did some changes to. Holy shit, it is nothing at all like the stock guitar I bought. I love the thing now. I was ready to sell it for cheap, just didn't care about it. But I'm so glad I kept it and changed things. Had never played with P90 pickups before, but listened to a lot of examples before settling on them. Wanted to do something different than any of the other guitars I have, and the tone absolutely fits the look and style of a Strat. P90s were originally designed for a particular Gibson Les Paul style in the 60s. Left is what it was, right is what it is.

Got the GotG Star-Lord/Yondu 2-pack in the mail today. They're both pretty awesome but it sucks that they didn't give Yondu his arrow because his coat's pulled back just to reveal an empty holster.

Found one of the Hiya Toys Aliens on eBay for about $20 and I have to say if the Predator and Injustice 2 figures are anything like this they should be pretty awesome.
The tail was stuck and I kind of twisted it off so I'll have to glue that back on but other than that it's a solid little figure. It came with four sets of hands, an open egg, a facehugger, and a stand that looks like a metal grate that apparently can connect to the stands the other figures come with. So happy I FINALLY have Joe sized Predators and Aliens which is something I've wanted for years. Now if I could just get official Resident Evil, Evil Dead, and Devil May Cry figures that size I'll never want a new toy again. Maybe...

I didn't know about them, or the scale. I need a predator now to go with my Billy/Spirit Iron Knife.

Want. Hicks in the loader looks so cool. I took a poll of my Joes and they also want. I hear you. I like the weird alternate Aliens. Shame that game was an apparent dumpster fire. Looks like there was some cool stuff it in. I have way way WAY too many NECA Predators to start buying them in another scale. But those smaller ones are neat lookin. I've only got the Serpent Hunter and City Hunter because a lot of NECA's Predators are kind of pricey now so I'm going to do my best to go all-in on these. Plus they can throw down with all my DC figures. Probably going to go ahead and pre-order City Hunter next month and count it as a late Christmas gift since they have it listed for release in January. Just too bad I have to wait until April for Lost Predator. Man I LOVE that design.

I saw those in Target today. They added a whole...I don't know what to call it actually. A novelty section I guess? Anyway they had stuff like those Stranger Things figures and some Rick and Morty figures and stuff like posters and mugs and all that kind of stuff. It was pretty cool.
I really liked these little metal figures from DC and Marvel I saw.

I found that place in Target earlier when I was looking for the WW blu ray. Was excited to tell my wife they had a geek section, and pointed out all the things I liked. Are they the Nano Metalfigs? I grabbed a couple of those at Walmart a couple months ago. Looked like they covered a lot of different movie, comic and game properties from what I saw. I agree, they're neat.

Yup. They had a pretty solid variety of mini-figs. Even saw some from Street Fighter.
And speaking of WW I walked away with a copy myself. $14.99 was a hell of a deal.

Yesterday was the last day for the sale and they only had a few left, and they were all up front. Almost got the DVD for $12.99 thinking it was all they had. Glad I checked. Probably would've gotten a Ken or Ryu if they were throwing a fireball.

A few days ago I got a weird text from FedEx telling me I had to sign for a package that was on its way. It didn't say who the sender was and I hadn't ordered anything lately or seen any weird charges on my credit card, so I was confused. After a couple more confusing days of missing the delivery guy and still not knowing what the hell this thing was, the box was finally dropped off yesterday. It was from Mezco. The One:12 Deadpool figure. Turns out I preordered the exclusive version through their website over a year ago and completely forgot about it. I'm not even a very big Deadpool fan. I must've ordered it on a whim after I saw the movie. It's a cool figure, and a nice little Christmas present from myself from last year.

Yesterday I was at the Disney store and they had about 40 Select Black Widows on sale for $5. Got one. Was in Target today, and they had they NEW line of Spider-Man figures on sale for $12. And they had the entire wave. I almost got them all since they were cheap, but I really hate the punk Spidey, don't care for the Noir version, never read the the stuff with Lasher, and Spider-Woman was meh. Also, I don't care about Lizard much, so that being the one BAF I'd have the chance to get all the pieces for wasn't very appealing. But I got Mysterio, Prowler and Gwenpool. On reflection, I'm confused why the Select BW didn't come with a single accessory except Ant Man and stand. No guns, which is weird. But Gwenpool comes with a cell phone, 3 sets of hands, 2 swords and an extra head doing the Miley Cyrus tongue thing. Ah, well. Good scores no matter what. Mysterio looks fantastic!

I've added a few more in the past year or so. Kramer Ferrington from the 80s. Always wanted one back then. It's an electric acoustic, but with an electric neck. Got this from Wifespar last Christmas. Picked this up in Feb super cheap. Had some damage to the neck and body. So I stripped it and fixed it, then stained it orange. Added the white stripe and made the back and sides white when I decided I didn't just want orange. Changed the pickups. A nice little Squier telecaster. Cheap, but a real fun machine. Got all the twang for a few bucks. Traded my old acoustic for this Fender Duo-Sonic. Fucking love it. And most recently, went for the fuzz pedal, got the guitar, too. The single coil pickups sound really good with the fuzz.

Walmart has all the McFarlane lego-ish sets on clearance. I got the Rick and Morty garage/spaceship kit for $15 and Steven Universe van for $17. Never watched Steven Universe, but it's a nifty looking camper. Figured they might be fun to put together, and they were. They're actually really well designed and pretty nicely detailed. Once together, they seem somewhat playable. The van more than the R&M set, but that makes sense since R&M ain't a fucking kids show.

Got a pump 12 gauge a few weeks ago, finally got to take it out and break it in yesterday. That fucker is fun as shit. And for not having been to a range in a couple years, I didn't do terribly with the pistols. Although my aim with the 9mm got a lot sloppier as the day went on.

I pre-ordered the 3 Police Funkos from BBTS and added Purple Rain Prince at the time. Then I added a few things to the pile since and had them delivered today. The Police still haven't been released, but I'll wait for them. Got a cool DD shirt, Legends IW Iron Man, and some various clearance stuff that seemed fun. I even grabbed a Legends of Cthulu club kit for the hell of it. I'll have to snag a figure or 2 to go with it.

Just waiting on the Mezco Hal Jordan, Moon Knight, Gambit and John Wick.

Shadow, City Hunter and Guardian. Haven’t really fiddled around with the much, but only issue I seem to have is putting the smart disc’s in the holders. Waiting for BBTS to get in the Super Preds and Jungle Hunter.
